I'm getting on the microgreens train. Wondering where people prefer to get their seed mixes from. I'm going the jar route as it's the cleanest and less fussy means by which to grow them in my opinion.

Johnny seeds has a good selection.
I do it in the winter under a light. Seeds are cheap.

$7/oz is really expensive. Which ones are you talking about? Amazon has a bunch of organic, non-gmo seeds around $1/oz.

Buyer beware. And an oz can go a long way.

The yield from a tray is significantly larger from what you would get from a mason jar, by the looks from that video. I could see an oz of seed going longer in a tray setup as opposed to a jar. Perhaps that's why $7/oz is looking more expensive to me. Because I'm using the jar method, I think I will need to look for a cheaper seed.

There are other major reliable seed vendors, but I wouldn't buy seeds from Amazon.

Any container with a lid will work. I used old lettuce containers.

True Leaf Market is a good resource for seeds.

Also, you don't have to buy microgreen seeds. You can just buy regular beet seeds or chard or whatever. You can get more than you'll eat in an entire year for 30 doll hairs or so, I'm talking almost a whole pound of seed. My math, Johnny's Red Ace seed is 36,800 seeds per pound. That's 2,300 seeds per oz. 25,000 seeds cost $39.50. 25,000 seeds / 2,300 seeds per oz is 10.9 oz. $39.50/10.9oz is $3.60/oz. Now go out into the world and do your own math.

Is someone upset that I enlightened faggots on the interweb and it's highly affecting your drop shipping business. I didn't shill for Johnny's. I used a product of their's to show people basic math to save themselves 50%. It's up to you to do the math involved for the quality and price point of your choosing. And I'll say it again for good measure, I wouldn't buy seeds off of Amazon.
