Thanks anon, I had my last Thomas' for breakfast this morning and have always wanted to make my own but didn't think to do it. I will be making them tonight. Do you make your own, and have a recipe to share?

The one culinary thing bongs excel at, which ironically involves a chewy, rubbery texture that = failure in nearly all other bread contexts. Also, even if you take into consideration how bongs label various baked goods and accept their weirdness as a gesture of good faith, in no way is it a "muffin". They could just as easily have called it a gollysnobber or scrumpledinger or a deacon's knob, but instead once again they call it something that means something else just to be British. Delicious but fuck them.

Those aren't crumpets though wanker. In England we just call those muffins. These are crumpets, they are characterised by the air holes throughout the bread making them perfect for soaking up butter and jam

The closest thing that the Brits have to the American biscuit would be a scone. Otherwise, commonwealth countries tend refer to cookies as biscuits.
