To reduce the amount of time spent washing hands I suppose.

If I'm cooking a meal made with multiple components and I'm likely to be touching lots of stuff (seasonings, handles, etc.) I'll wash my hands in between.

Constant handwashing can irritate the skin

Wearing gloves when cooking is the number one tell someone is a fucking retard with no hope to become good at anything. Gloves don't mean you can touch anything and they don't get dirty. Gloves mean switching pairs every time you touch a different surface. Gloves means washing your hands and applying the gloves in a very specific manner to avoid contamination.

Using gloves any other way than the only safe way to use them is completely counterproductive. It's the same thing with masks and clearly 90% of the population is too retarded to understand the point of using gloves/masks and how to use them properly.

Youtubers cook with gloves on because it's faster to take the gloves off if you need to suddenly change a camera angle or some shit in the middle of filming rather than pause to go wash your hands and shit. The fact that the gloves make people think it looks more professional and shit is just an added bonus.
