ITT: Post foods you've cooked recently and the recipes

Made this large batch of nordic style pea soup yesterday
>1000g of dried green peas
>600g ham or some other meat (I used cheap cold cut ham since I'm a poorfag)
>2 medium sized onions
>2-3 teaspoons of dried marjoram
>black pepper and salt to taste

>soak the peas in water for 8-24 hours before you intend to make it
>dice the onions
>preheat your oven to 150c
>pour the soaked peas into a large (4 liters minimum) pot, roasting dish etc. with the soaking water
>bring to a boil, scoop out the foam that forms
>after no significant foam comes out, add the onions and the marjoram
>let it boil for ~30 minutes
>place into the bottom part of the oven with the lid on
>stew for a minimum of 2 hours (I let mine stew for 4, but you can go overnight for 8 hours if you want)
>add the meat in at some point, make sure you give it enough time to cook properly (my cold cuts only needed a little bit of time so I added them 30 minutes before I took it out)
>stir occasionally
>take it out of the oven when you feel its done
>add salt and black pepper to taste
>serve with mustard (preferably not the american yellow kind, but not the dijon kind either)

Based marjoram user. You could try savory too. I would add way more onions and also carrots though. Smoked meat like bacon would also be better imo.

As a finnish fag I approve this dish. 5/5 would eat.

Bacon bones or a ham hock boiled to make stock for the soup. Saute onion, garlic, celery, carrot and rosemary. That's how I start a pea and ham soup.

Is this a meme ?

Anyway here is a pork loin I marinated in apple juice and made with a homemade apple butter recently

Never made homemade apple butter before it’s basically apple sauce on roids lots of brown sugar

What's the apple butter recipe? I usually eat pork chops with homemade apple sauce but my apple sauce isn't great

You could ask for a piece of ham instead of slices and cube it, cubes are more appealing imo

Chocolate soufflé, it wasn't very good though texture-wise.

Use salted pork (dont unsalt) and savory, not marjoram and ham. Otherwise its yellow peas, yellow onions, carrot and celery, nothing else.
