I wish I had marmite where I live to try it. How does it taste and feel?

You can buy it on Amazon. It's very salty, bitter, and savory. Texture is like molasses.

I heard it tastes like soy sauce which is the most feminine condiment

>> No.17543852

>>17543322
soy sauce actually doesn't contain the estrogenic substances that most other soy products have, but marmite does. the estrogenic substances in marmite are derived from hopps.

Why were two threads made on this?
I'll ask the same question here that I asked in that other marmite/vegemite thread since I don't know why two threads were made and I don't know which one will stay and which one will be abandoned.

>Is $10 usd worth it for this stuff? Keep seeing it in my local supermarkets international aisle and been thinking about giving it a try. What would I be in for? How's the best way to prepare and enjoy it? Can you do more than just spread it on toast?
also curious about this.

>gee I wonder why there's a premium...
potatos are vegan and they are cheap as hell you absolute fool

>You’re better off with Vegemite, it’s far superior.
I never tried vegemite or marmite, but I want to. Why is vegemite better?

>Fuck off dingo cunt
I wonder if the guy that unconditionally hates australians for no reason is the same guy who unconditionally hates italians for no reason. personally I don't buy your random mkultra hate propaganda and if anything just to spite you I love australians and italians even more because fuck you.

Why is vegemite better?

fucking answer me, how the hell can you say shit like this in two threads and then just abandon the fucking thread without explaining it you corporate shill? You know what that behavior causes me to do? I'll tell you what it doesn't make me do: buy vegemite. In fact, I still know NOTHING, so guess what, I'M NOT BUYING MARMITE OR VEGEMITE, AMAZING, YOU WON MY MONEY DIDN'T YOU HUH? GENIUS MARKETING FOR MARMITE AND VEGEMITE.
also make sure you keep adding unnecessary ingredients and preservatives and shit because I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE that shit and I will totally buy it then! (NOT)

Vegemite is not sweet like Marmite and has a better texture. Marmite is like a children's version of Vegemite which is why Kiwis prefer it because they have bone in their brain.

I've tried both Vegemite and marmite.
They see very similar tasting but Vegemite spreads more like really thick peanut butter while marmite spreads more like.. The world's stickiest syrup.
Buuuuuut.. Marmite is better.
They both taste strongly of beef bullion which is why it's good for vegetarians. However, Vegemite is less intense and one note. Marmite is extremely tangy which I love. Kinda the same effect if taking a straight up swig of A1 sauce and since it's so sticky, when you spread it, you get strong and soft bits. Lots of fun.
Vegemite spreads easily (thusly, uniformly) and less intense. So it's more not very exciting.
But if you don't like one, you probably won't like the other. The flavor itself is extremely similar.

Oh, and you spread it on toast, English muffin, whatever. I like it on breakfast sandwiches. Don't use a lot.
Also, it's good for making your stocks meaty.
It's extremely strong flavored so it lasts awhile and you have to use it sparingly or it'll overwhelm your taste buds.
Although 10 is a bit pricy. I feel like it would be an easier sell if it was like 5.

that's interesting thanks anon, now I genuinely want to try both to see which is more or less bitter/salty/sweet and learn the differences in texture and flavor. Maybe I will even consider blending different portions together like 50/50 or 60/40 or 70/30 of each. Maybe I will even blend them with peanut butter. I'm curious how similar it may be to sweet white miso paste. I would love to mess around and figure out if I love one specifically or fall in love with both for different uses.

>>17543942
extremely interesting as well, thank you for this information.
