Hosting a LAN party next weekend.
Was thinking of making a huge pot of chili, ordering a few pizzas, chips and dip, BYO alcohol.
Do you guys have any better ideas food wise?

OP, you're hosting, don't fail on lack of effort and creativity. You have a while to plan.
So I wouldn't resort to low priced takeout pizza unless your pizza menu is coming from a Mom n Pop italian joint that is known locally to be amazing. Better than pizza is some nice custom long stromboli's you can neatly slice and eat on a plate with a knife and fork. Add some good antipasti platter. You'd be surprised that restaurant catering prices at some italian restaurants for the big platter of salad, big lasagna might even be better prices than crappy fast food pizza. Let people be amazed at the yummy food that took more effort than calling for delivery.

Bleh, I'm chili'd out. Lots of cold weather the past few weeks, surely everyone has had some recently as well.

With the BBQ plan, the day before, smoke a whole brisket, maybe some craft sausages to smoke and slice too, make a good coleslaw or chill down a big potato salad. Pick up some slider rolls or nice buns, Simmer some homemade or canned beans (enhanced with onion, peppers, some glazed. Maybe bake a mac n cheese casserole, or bake a cornbread w/jalapenos and cheese. Put together a Southern banana pudding to top with whipped cream the next day. Top it off with some great cocktail in a pitcher to dole out to everyone's own strength of added alcohol, or fill an ice chest with some favorite beer(s).

DIY crunchwrap supremes were always a hit at my parties. You just need large tortillas, tostadas for the crunch layer, meat, taco seasoning, some kind of cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo (or be lazy and use rotel) plus whatever other things might be good in it like olives, jalapeños, etc.

Just keep in mind most people can't cook to save their lives so you and/or guests who can work a skillet will be needed to seal them shut.

To add to this.
Just grab a big piece of pork shoulder and crockpot/instantpot it so it becomes tender and grab some tortilla wraps, chop some onions, cilantro, get some hot sauce and go to town with them. You can also make some cowboy caviar too. Honestly it'll be much more satisfying and low effort compared to anything else since people will have to build their own food.

If you somehow combined meta, oculus, and some high-tech "ready player 1" contraption, it would still not be half the fun as toiling to connect all the computers, only to find that one guy who still cant see the rest of us on the network. If you're not tech-savvy, all you hear here are complications. For us it's fun. Also, irl is always better than online.

It's a lan party don't over complicate it, jesus. The focus is the vidya, not the food. Keep it food simple, cheap, and hand held. Get some pizzas or one of those six foot long subs or something.

I like to look at these pictures and ruin them for myself by giving them a rational explanation. For this one, it's some kind of boys home for foster kids or something and it's kinda small for it's population so the computers are in the kitchen/dining area. The kids take part in the labor to prepare food for the whole house and maybe other neighboring shelters/soup kitchens. They need to finish the prep work before they're allowed to use the computer, so we're seeing a before and after.

Pizza is the only correct option. Everyone loves it, It can be eaten without dishes if necessary, there is no real clean up, and it can be eaten while gaming. If you have enough everyone will have their fill and be satisfied.
