Guys why do white people not season their food much? Before you all go into a racist rage, I am a white person and my mother never seasoned food very much when she cooked. Is it just a thing from ethnicity-less (i.e. ones who didn't grow up being around italian/french/etc foods) baby boomers like my mother, or is it just from people who don't know how to cook (also baby boomer mothers)

I know I’m replying to bait, but in Central Europe it’s pretty much babyboomers that grew up with post-war cooking, when it was not really possible to get your hands on spices. When economy started booming again, most cookbooks were still from that era, so tastes were established and trends were generally changing more sluggishly before the internet was a thing. In addition to that, the first health experts that popped up along with the booming economy mostly had no real clue what to spout and created lots of bullshit theories, much like most boomer philosophies have this “just go with it” attitude.
