It isn’t though. Vinegar is specifically made through fermentation of alcohol. Although yes, this does produce acetic acid and vinegar is made up of 5-8% acetic acid, by definition it’s still a fermented product and contains other compounds and flavours. Non-brewed condiment is not fermented and is simply straight acetic acid mixed with other ingredients. Trading standards in the uk do not allow non-brewed condiment to be labelled as vinegar because of this, nor can it be placed in traditional vinegar bottles. Most chip shops just simply ignore this rule.

It’s like saying water is also vinegar, because vinegar contains water. Which isn’t true of course and is pretty retarded. Again, vinegar is a specific product made from fermentation.
