This is true. Nan from India, Anglo-Injun, and spent about 3-4 months collectively in India. Southern Indian cuisine isn't my favourite either, but Goan was nice. Vindaloo there is completely different, barely spicey in comparison the gimmicky UK one.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed by some curry and a chicken drumstick slapped on a hot plate and chopped up with wrap/flat bread (Kottu). The fried noodles were ok, bit weird, I liked the buffalo yoghurt though.
I went through Sri Lanka then landed in the Southern tip of India and went north from there, Kerala curry on a Banana leaf was kinda nice.
MoMo's were nice too, love me a dumpling, I didn't start properly enjoying food until Hampi/Goa though as I munched through loads of chicken Tikka. I lost 8 kg's from how little I was eating and the constant shits.
>>17297657
Never seen a Dosa on a curry house Menu before and I don't live in East London so I don't see Indian-esque eateries for locals.
Most Indian cuisine is based on Northern which is why Anglo-Indians and such didn't bring those foods over.
>>17297718
VINDALOOOOO VINDAALOOOOOO WE ALL LUV VINDA--LOOOOO
Also Tikka Masala was invented here, but noone knows exactly where, Phal, Korma, JalFreizi and Rogan Josh to name a few.
Kedgeree too but it isn't too common, most English households will have a chicken curry in their rotation weekly.
>pic unrelated
I couldn't find any pics of the appropriate file size of when I was in India on my pc, and I cba to get them off my phone. Sri Lanka was BEAUTIFUL though, and your women are kinda hot.

As I said in my other posts, I traveled India, been twice and have Indian heritage and their curries are very different to the restaurant stuff in the UK. It's not as different as American Chinese vs Actual Chinese cuisine, but it is different, a vindaloo is night and day in the UK vs Goa.

As someone who was obsessed with india and indian culture years ago, has made dozens of authentic indian dishes and is currently eating chana masala I made last night, yeah I agree with you
I cook authentic indian cuisine as a way to reduce my meat consumption though and I like it, my favourite is dal makhani, chana masala, palak paneer, rajma masala and mustard fish curry
The kind of british indian food you find in online recipes is complete garbage unless it's based on restaurant recipes in my experience, none of them show the proper techniques like bhunna or how to use spices

Sri Lankan takeout food is generally mediocre and there is no eating out culture, the best foods are homemade (meat curries are similar to vindaloo) but obviously hard to come by if you're a tourist. I agree though that kottu is overrated, never even had fried noodles kek

polish sausages are pretty good tbf, i prefer them to german ones.
you should try polish mayo, it's way better than hellmans or the supermarket brand and you can get it most anywhere these days.
sauerkraut you can also get at polish shops which is peng, i guess it's german?
big fan of those dried thin polish meat sticks too, you can get them in most supermarkets as a snack
my gf is polish so, i end up eating a lot of it. it's pretty good actually, but nothing amazingly special
