Any people here in a relationship with someone of a different culture? How do they feel about you introducing your culture’s cuisine to them? Specific examples of dishes you grew up with that they really love or really dislike?

I'm in a relationship with a chink. She likes my cooking and is open to any cuisine, I mostly cook European stuff, Italian, french etc, she's even fine with diary. I on the other hand hate and would never try some of the Chinese poverty dishes like chicken feet.

My wife is from the Philippines . Once in a while I’ll have food that she cooks such as pork adobo . I’ve offered many times to cook for her because she works two jobs and has very little time . Just yesterday I offered to make cheesy broccoli for her and she declined . She just doesn’t like American food .

I am a Scot with a Latvia misses. She likes everything basically. Especially Marmite, haggis, smokies & Cullen skink.

Northern European countries don't really have huge differences in how we view food.

I dated a Brazilian girl, a black/puerto rican girl, a britbong and a jew. Everybody has had Italian-American food so not really much to introduce, though Brazilian and black/rican girls families had some bangin shit I'd never had before. Also, my Uncle married a Jamaican woman so have had some good shti there too.

gf is from ecuador, i thought i ate a healthy amount of fresh food, but this bitch keeps the fridge full of produce and doesn't buy any meat unless she plans to cook it that day. her cooking is good, but dry to me who grew up eating gravy and rice everyday. every meal has a starch, a protein and a fresh vegetable. potatoes, plantain and yucca in everything, cheap cuts of meat braised, potatoes and rice on the same plate, a lot of salad or whatever raw vegetable can be thrown on as a side. brilliant at cooking fish, and if there's no time to cook, just throw some raw fruits and greens in the blender and make 'juice'. She says she likes my cooking, but I've seen her eat raw serranos and unseasoned boiled yucca with black coffee before so I don't worry too much.

Italian-Irish mutt mix but culinarily grew up italian. My spic gf was originally from flyover country so she loved all the mid-Atlantic italian staple places I'd show her, homecooked italian food, and pizzas that weren't doughy flabs of shit drowning in cheap cheese. In return she'd take me to all the weird little latino half grocer/half cafeteria spots where nobody speaks english but they serve delicious food from big batches in hot plates and her abuela would make some delicious homemade papusas and shit. She also sucked dick like her life depended on it but was a psycho fucking bitch.

My current gf is Italian so our culinary exchange consists of her consistently negging me on how much more authentically italian her family's cooking is than mine with our Irish-polluted blood, which upon reflection is one of the most insufferably italian things I can imagine, so maybe she has a point. She doesn't suck dick nearly as well but has very big tits and is a much more manageable form of crazy.

Wife is Japanese.
She loves my murrican slop.
She had never tried poorfag american-style tacos, mac & cheese, pulled pork, fried bologna, thanksgiving-style comfort dishes, etc. so does her mom when I cook them, which kind of surprised me.

But I love her home cooking too. The broiled fish and stewed fish and other fish. And her rice. And her shiso that she puts on everything I swear there’s shiso in my sandwiches. But sometimes I get natto for breakfast so that’s a good change. And I love her rice. I’m glad I get to eat so much of it. When she packs my lunch for work I get even more rice, and leftover fish from last night. But sometimes on a lucky day I get some pickles. And on super lucky days I can buy lunch with my allowance!
One time I got to have a beer with lunch!
I’m living the dream, bros! I have no regrets moving to Fukuoka.

Examples? Are we talking blood sausage and jellied eels, or chicken curry? It's hard to get a bead on what "Br*tish food" means anymore. But it has its moments.

If you grew up in America in a not-entirely-dysfunctional family of European background, this is just a normal meal; what's not to like? Even if the meat is too dry, there's a fix for that: A1 or ketchup (instead of England's HP sauce). SORTED.

That said, the "Great British Meal Out" does seem a bit grim:

My spouse is from Sweden. The food there isn't bad, but a bit different than the culture I grew up in. They eat ketchup on their tacos and spaghetti, ice cold seafood and boiled potatoes with most dinners. The dairy quality is 100x better than in the US, so that more than makes up for how ubiquitous salmon is (I hate salmon).

My husband is interested in American food culture for the curiosity of it and has hit all the big points like BBQ, soul food, most of our non-international fast food places, etc, but his tastes are still very Scandinavian. He loves Kansas City and St. Louis-style BBQ, especially burnt ends.

We once went to an "American" style restaurant in Sweden and it was one of the more schizophrenic dining experiences I've had. Nowhere near the idea of cha chaan teng or yoshoku in Asia, but it was kind of odd. Burgers, wings and fries with surfer and western cowboy decor. There's also "American" burger sauce, which is just thousand islands dressing. They seem to think we put it on everything.
