The reason cooking your own food is for retards is that the more work you put into preparing food, the more humiliating and infuriating it is when you inevitably wind up spilling it all over the fucking floor

I was talking about air fryers with my mother and she made some good points. Are they even worth the effort? They're so small you can barely fit anything in them and it takes forever to cook. So you have to keep putting stuff in and coming back. For all that effort, why not just cook it in the oven, or on the stove?

>> No.17256246

i threw my air fryer out after a couple months because no matter how much i cleaned it regularly, there was still a nasty burnt old grease smell after turning it on for 2 mins deep within the machine.

I've found they're no better or worse than an oven with cook time, and they're less likely to burn things. Plus, they're usually much better about making things crispy without making them dry like an oven

You're usually not making a whole lot of food with it. I'm sure someone out there tries to make tons with theirs, but I pretty much just make fries/toast with cheese melted on it. It actually does wonders for cheese now that I think of it; crispy and crunch outside with a nice gooey melted inside

OP, I know you're upset right now but look on the bright side:
1. Skinny fries suck.
2. Potatoes are cheap and easy to prepare
3. Air frying is not as good as frying in oil

So this isn't a big loss.

m8 I was making 4 servings worth of seafood newburg which featured lobster, scallops, and prawns and I spilled 80% of it down the crack between the stove and the counter and it all just slopped into the dust, muck, and cobwebs. it took 2 days of trying to vacuum, scrub, and polish in the crack before I had any confidence it was clean and my house would stop smelling like an estuary.

it was like $60 worth of fucking food.

I'd even baked the vol au vent pastries. pic related, all that was left.

I made a large tray of lasagne Friday to cut into pieces and freeze for lunch meals, believing I would save money by making it on my own I was wrong. I spent €10 euro of ingredients including already-made tomato sauce with minced meat inside, that alone saved me another €10 of ingredients had I made all from scratch. I could have bought frozen lasagne for €6 of the same weight and I'm going to do that next time. Cooking has become too expensive and it's cheaper to buy ready meals.

This problem can be avoided by following standard Clean Kitchen Protocol:
>lay down a plastic sheet on the floor
>take off your shoes and put on sanitary Chef's Booties
Now you can spill as much as you want, and then safely scoop up the spilled food later. This is standard practice in commercial kitchens, but most people don't know unless they've worked in a restaurant, because cooking shows typically don't usually show the chef's feet.
