this was like 6 crammed bags of groceries, that should would be like $300 at safeway/kroger

I don't know Wineco prices but I'm guessing at least $50 for bottom right picture if he's not getting a 50% discount on the damaged cans or returned items which could be all of the canned and bottle of salsa. If so, probably $40. I know those Amy's soups are at least $3/can regular price at Safeway.

Americans pay that much for canned goods?
wtf

1/2 the price of safeway or other traditional-american super markets

>>17244132
>Americans pay that much for canned goods?
i think about 2/3rd the price is on labor/shipping-and-handling. considering winco is half the price of other stores and they leave boxes of product on the shelf, and regular super markets neatly organize products onto the shelves.

At the price the original OP said he bought them at (around 50 cents per 1lb can), that's about the same as you can get bulk almost anywhere. Also you can't buy dry bulk everywhere.

how much do supermarkets like safeway and kroger charge for a can of beans? i assumed it was about $1.50

>> No.17245552

>>17245359
50 cents/lb sounds extremely low quality. after washing away the sugary high sodium liquid which the beans are soaked in anyway i still dont understand how it can compare to dry beans.

They're beans. It's not really that much of a quality difference. Yes, they're better, but they're also ready within a few minutes if you need em to be, rather than requiring a soak for many hours or buying a pressure cooker.

And again, you can't buy bulk dry goods everywhere. Personally, the only places around me that have large bags of the stuff are the warehouse clubs like costco, sams club, etc that also require a membership, so again we're talking extra costs.

I bought a $6, 8-lb bag of black beans from sams club about 4 months ago when I went with a friend who does have a membership. I'm not sure I'm a third of the way through it. Yea, it's a great investment, and I've made some really nice versions, but if I don't remember or desire to pop some in a container the day before, then I'm just making something else.

Probably about a buck for the cheaper brands, maybe 1.50 for goya or reinzi. 2.50 for organic perhaps. My local supermarket has cans on sale right now at $.50 ea if you buy in multiples of 4.

its seems to be a lot better than what people in the US deal with drivers insisting on getting tipped before the order is even dropped off. I order my food from local spots all wihtin 5km of where I live they always deliver withing 40 minutes bring it to my Apt. door and are happy with a 2 euro tip. not all the BS around it like with door dash or ueber eats...at least what I gather reading about here on /ck/ in California I have my own Car so when Im back there I don't see the point in ordering Delivery.

instant pots are pressure cookers. they have rice modes and they also have saute and slow cooker modes. I have nice stainless stock pots and dutch ovens and sometimes I am lazy and just use the instant pot to make dinner since all you need to do is pull out the stainless steel inner sleeve and throw it in the wash. I wouldn't run my zojirushi's bowl through the wash so I actually find the instant pot easier to clean than my rice cooker or my stove and stockpot

The Data Mining Industry contains the ultimate Satanic evil and anti-human agenda to take away the freedom of humanity and the human race by uploading all your thoughts and mental images to servers owned by marketing mega-corporations so that all actions of human beings are predictable and therefore controlled.

CHAOS! CHAOS! CHAOS! We are the order of LUNATICS, Glory to the SUPREME LUNAR FORCES!

The data mining industry is worse than Hitler's Nazi Germany and the IBM cataloguing Jews. Its ultimate evil and greed. The data mining industry should be owned by the people. The big data industry is symbolic of the beast (666), the artificial control of being in civilization and society imposing materialism upon the infinite spirit and potential of human being inherently opposed and against spirituality, the big data industry must be transformed or annihilated
