Clean and they have a high standard of customer service. They use fresh ingredients and have a simple menu.

Better than most fast food burgers, but the real draw is how cheap it is. Prepare for mediocre fries.

Listen assholes, this is the only way to order In n Out

>Double Double (or Triple Triple if youre hungry)
>burger “Animal Style”
>chopped chilies on the burger
>fries LIGHT (so you dont get gross crunchy fries like they normally make)

Do everyone a favor and always order fries light or light well

>> No.17240793

I’ve eaten it for years, and it is overrated, but it’s still the best fast food burger. >>17240765
This man is wrong, you get the regular double double because they give you a whole slice of raw onion (not separated rings) on it. And you get your fries well done to maximize crunchiness

Cheap. Decent customer service.
Burgers are below average. Small, a bit dry.
Absolute worst fries I've ever had. Horrible, dry, chalky. Ostensibly the only way for them to be edible is to ask them to smother them in a massive pile of Thousand Island dressing.

Overall it's shit if you have a better regional chain.

If anything, the fries are underrated. I constantly see people shittalking their fries, though I personally like them. I don't like a very potatoey fry, and In-n-Out's are thin, perfect.

Why is in-n-out always staffed by white teenagers and every other fast food place is staffed by middle-aged minorities? Kinda weird

White, Asian, and mixed non-Black generally. You know, people capable of working their asses off, speaking fluent English, and yet still really never fucking up. It’s all in exchange for a very nice wage, and it seems they form very good teams and I’ve never seen any drama.

>> No.17241963

Pay and corporate culture. In-N-Out Burger is privately owned. It’s not a publicly held company. It does not franchise. Every single employee, from busboy to general manager is an employee of the company.

All employees are paid above market rate so In-N-Out gets the best fast food employees and people who wouldn’t consider working in fast food except for their good pay.

Moreso, the company can exact strict control over who is managing the restaurants so the managers are going to run a much tighter, much more consistent ship. And because the founder was an evangelical and the heir has the same philosophy, they recruit people like themselves, which tends to be white evangelicals. Despite that groups demonization by the ruling class (white non-christians and jews) those people are actually generally pretty nice and hardworking. So company policy is to hire nice hardworking people not the cheapest helots fresh off the bus from the border

Let me out of this by saying, it’s the franchise system:
- Chick-Fil-A and In-N-Out have the same goal - to provide a good dining experience.
- McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, and others are not selling a good dining experience - they are selling franchises. The worst offender by far is Subway.

This completely screws up the incentives. The local franchise owners are focused on reducing their costs to put more money in their own pockets. The primary thing they have control over is labor. So they hire whoever is cheapest and not whoever is best. Privately held companies aren’t immune to choosing short term profits at the expense of brand quality, but CFA and INO are definitely more resilient because of that. CFA has variable compensation for their “operators” (sort of like franchisees) but CFA exerts such control over them and trains them so well they know how to staff and train their CSR’s.

If more companies decided to try to offer a quality experience and product to their customers rather than collect profits, not only would the country be nicer but the companies who did so would make more money long term.

Oh another thing, there is a local pizza company which reminds me quite a bit of Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out called Dion’s Pizza. All the employees are teenaged or college aged white and hispanic kids. The food is always good and fresh. They have a grip of locations in NM and have a couple in CO and TX. Great customer service and clean comfortable restaurants and great food.

I wish all restaurants were like these. I find Jersey Mike’s to remind me of these in terms of staffing and quality but they do franchise so I wonder if I have just been blessed with good local franchises.

I have to admit that McDonald’s does do a good job overall but I have been to plenty of McDonald’s where the quality was just iffy and the workers sucked and the restaurant seems kind of dirty

subway is the real tragedy because they went so hard on franchises and illegal labor that when they were forced to raise prices because of material cost they eliminated the sole reason to go to subway. i'm not paying $10 for that piece of shit when i can eat at chipotle for $8

>Fries well done, add lemon pepper

McDonalds is king of consistency in a lot of places, but it's a much lower tier than In-N-Out.
McDoanlds made the perfect system to get as much stuff done and out as quick as possible, but this sets the quality of the food pretty low. Where as In-n-Out obviously care a lot more about their food quality

At least here in the UK, McDonalds always has a ton of staff working, compared to say Burger King who i've legit seen 1 teen taking orders and cooking at times
