Where the fuck does an American guy like me even find durian? I was born in Florida and lived there til I was 23, I lived for six years in Montana, and I live in Minneapolis now. In between all of that, I've been to a total of thirty states, although I've only spent more than a day in like, eight of them, and I've never seen durian. I haven't been to California, seems like something Californians would eat, but I live in a place with a lot of Asians, my wife is Chinese and goes to the Asian food places for most of the groceries, and I've never seen durian anywhere. I know I could order it but I'm not about to spend that much money on a fruit I might not even like.

I’m in California and I can find it sort of easy, only ever frozen though. 99 Ranch has it and I think that’s a national chain. Look for IQF durian that’s like the pods frozen separated from the shell. I’ve had durian a bunch and I’ve only had a good experience with it once, I’m pretty sure most of the shit in the US is poor quality
