If you aren't a total cooklet you can make eggs in a fucking stainless steel. Cast iron or carbon steel are great. Get that cancer shit away from ne.

Last time I ate eggs was ten years ago and it put me in the hospital.
I miss them sometimes.

>Carbon steel ftw.
is this shit a meme? I don't get it.
like why use carbon steel over stainless. especially on electric

>> No.17173584

>>17173570
carbon steel has better thermal properties than stainless steel.
the seasoning also makes it reasonably non-stick

Im not an american so I do not base my cook wear on being able to cook the only thing americans cook, breakfast.

I have two frying pans, one which is teflon and one which is... I don't know exactly, it's one of my mum's old pans she gave to me when I moved out. No matter what I've done to the latter pan to make it non stick, every time I've cooked eggs in it they adhere to the surface like it was glue until they char. Same with bacon, which gets stuck and tears apart when I try and lift the slices with tongs or spatula or wooden spoon.
I still use it though, for some stuff it's alright and it's bigger than the teflon. I couldn't bear to get rid of it either.

Post picture of pan. I want to scoff at your terrible cooking ability when it turns out to be a perfectly fine cast/stainless/aluminium pan.

Is that painting toxic or not? I mean, can I just scrape off a bowl of that and eat all of it (just like the amount when you use it all your life), will it permanently damage my body?

I'm away from home at the moment, if the thread is still here on Monday I'll post a pic but if not I'll make a new one. I don't think it's cast iron, the handle is riveted to it and has a plastic cover (there's a screw which holds the plastic outer to the handle but I've not been able to unscrew it). The pan's black, there's a couple of small chips where you can see bare metal showing through. It does tend to rust over a bit if unused for a while. It's heavy though so I don't think it's aluminium.
No recognisable brand on it, I think on the bottom it says "le pan" which as you can imagine is hard to search for.

You get immediate ass cancer.

They're wildly different materials. Stainless has no non-stick properties whatsoever so it's phenomenal for making fond, carbon steel is similar to cast iron but half the weight.

>> No.17175897

>>17173385
I don't know how anyone doesn't just use cast iron? It's basically the same process wtf

>> No.17176177

>>17173390
carbon steel has stupidly long handles though.

I can fight my cast iron in my toaster oven just fine.

>> No.17176309

>>17173385
I use stainless steel, carbon steel and cast iron exclusively. Teflon is for tranny faggots who can't cook

>> No.17176387

>>17173570
Better heat transfer and retention with carbon steel than stainless, I'm able to make eggs not stick to stainless, but still prefer using cast iron or carbon steel for them. They all have their uses though.

>> No.17176397

I only eat eggs I gather naturally from birds nests. I find a flat rock and make an ash fire to heat my rock. I'll unfold my wax cloth covered piece of fatback and let a bit melt on my rock. Crack my eggs. Season with plants I find while heating my rock. Eat my eggs, give out a series is ape hoots to hear them echo off the canyon walls. A retarded mule deer stops and looks at me. Fuck you mule deer, I regret nothing

Cast iron is good but I'd still go for teflon if I don't have time/feel like doing the dishes right away. That's what Laika died for.
