Ah fuck, forgot this is /ck/, where nuance doesn’t exist.

Over-easy is objectively the best way to cook eggs, and anyone who cooks them differently at any time doesn’t know shit about eggs, doesn’t know shit about cooking, and WNBAW despite the fact they suck miles of dick.

I used to think uncooked yoke was gross when I was a little shit but now there's no better way to enjoy an egg than sunny side up, yolk completely runny, eat the whites up to the very edge of the yolk and then pop that cunt into your mouth whole. That subtle, mellow yolk cumshot allover your tongue as it breaks open is just the best. I've come to like pure, understated flavors and that's one of the best.

That's how you get those Thai style, crispy fried eggs, not necessarily the classic sunny side up eggs. I honestly prefer that style, but not the same as classic sunny side up.

If you want those classic, minimal browning picturesque sunny side up eggs with JUST set egg white with minimally cooked yolk, the most consistent and reliable way is to preheat a pan over medium, oil/butter, drop egg in, season, and IMMEDIATELY put the pan into a preheated broiler(a decent counter convection oven will work fine). The residual heat from the pan should just cook the underside of the white. The broil effect will set the egg whites quicker than the denser mass of egg yolk.

You can also use a lid and a tbsp of water to steam the egg, but I like the oven technique more, personally.

I've been making over easy.

I make English muffin egg sandwiches with fried ham cheese and ketchup.

I usually fuck up tho because I like it runny but not too runny, sunny side up makes it so the top part of the egg yellow and white is still raw, I'm paranoid to eat raw egg.

But over easy for me usually turns to over hard to the point its not runny any more, I try to flip it to cook the top part for a few seconds but I always miscalculate.

For ramen I hard boil eggs for 8 min, its hard to get it at the right level. I get pissed when I undercook it cause runny egg in ramen smells bad. I learned the hard way that u can't microwave eggs to finush cooking them shit exploded all over my microwave.

But overall I love eggs its easy to cook and cheap protein

I buy 2 packs of 18 eggs so I can in theory use them for stuff. Then I leave them in the fridge and ignore them until I need to throw them out.
Is this healthy?

i was about to make this thread kek. i think sunny side up is the most aesthetic but i prefer to flip them for a little bit to get over easy because it makes me feel more comfortable eating it

>sunny side up makes it so the top part of the egg yellow and white is still raw, I'm paranoid to eat raw egg
SAME BRO
>But over easy for me usually turns to over hard to the point its not runny any more, I try to flip it to cook the top part for a few seconds but I always miscalculate.
I have the same problem and i'm constantly experimenting. what seems to work at least on my stove is to turn the stove off either right before or right after flipping, then just let it sit for 30 seconds or so

I either do scrambled or omelet.

I like mixing it with ham or sausage, swiss or cheddar cheese, finely diced spinach, onions and green peppers and with some hot sauce.

Soft boiled are nice sometimes. Every other egg is a mouthful. Especially fried in grease. I like crispy food, strong, acidic and spicy (hot) tastes more.

I think I developed a hatred of scrambled eggs from eating them so much. I’m gonna have to make some overcooked omelets to switch things up.

Overmedium if the yolk is broken early so the yolk cooks at the same rate as the whites, otherwise the whites get overcooked. And keep the yolk at semi firm not completely cooked. Cooked in a TON of oil or butter too

Put vinegar in the water and it'll make them easier to peel, without giving the eggs a vinegar taste. Works for me every time.

I've never steamed eggs but I've done hard boiled camping b4 and we didn't have any cooking shit. You can legit hard boil them without water at all, I did it just tossing the egg on the edge of the campfire and waiting. Be careful removing them, the shells are hat af and don't touch them for a very long time being careful when you finally by doing delicate test touches. I have no idea why but they stay hot for fucking ever. Anyway, no the shell wasn't burnt and the egg was done just fine.

>I have no idea why but they stay hot for fucking ever.
the shape naturally has low surface area to mass ratio, meaning less surface area to radiate heat out of into the air
and if you set it down on something like a rock it's only touching at once small point meaning there isn't much contact area to diffuse heat through either

Put a lid over them if you don't want to spoon oil, the steam will cook the whites on the top.
