I'll go ahead and change next to nothing, continue to hire illegal immigrant staff, pocket all the money, and use the renovations you made to the inside of my restaurant to sell the property, making double what I bought the restaurant for.

This show is just a fixer upper property flip show disguised as a cooking show. I'm willing to bet less than 5 of these restaurants actually kept operating and didn't just sell the restaurant after he gave it a paint job, new tables, and some other shit and made bank. Honestly good for the owners. Dumb Americans thinking these owners actually value anything he said.

that generally is the case. The whole point is to turn businesses that are pretty much already dead into small success stories long enough for the owners to get out of their crippling debts and run away from their mistakes. It wouldn't shock me if the 2 or 3 places that continued for 5 years after their episode aired are closed now, not even considering the wuhan flu.
