I may be truly plebeian in this opinion, but I simply do not like bottom-feeders unless they're battered and deepfried. I don't even like them breaded. For catfishes of various types, I cut them into nugget-y sizes then dredge them in cornflour and finally in the batter and into the hot oil they go.
