Has anyone here ever made a spam burger like on the can and was it good? Do people really do that? I only eat it in eggs.

Its delicious. I remember trying it for the first time at the spam trailer in the Florida state fair. Its really good. If you eat 2 of them in a row, though, it starts to taste awful. Never figured out why.

You can get the singles but they're overpriced. Spam lasts forever in the fridge, though. Just do spam and egg for breakfast and spam sandwich for lunch a few times. As long as you space it put it stays tasty.

Spam itself is overpriced one can costs over 5 bucks. It's insane. I might make a hash with it or try the burger. I'm like the other anon I have trouble finishing the whole block too but I crave it every so often

Depends on the region. I did a cross country roadtrip and was finding it for like $3 in some parts of the south. It stores well, though, so the covid stockpiling definitely raised the price a ton. I won't buy it for $5 when pork chops are $1 or so per lb. I was craving some today but I just used some pepperoni instead.

That's still too much honestly. It's basically cat food. If I want canned protein for a reasonable price I'll just buy deenz. Less loaded with preservatives and nitrates. Spam should never be more than 2.50 absolute max.

same guy has a homemade spam video where he uses ground pork shoulder and city ham and he says it looks smells and tastes exactly like canned spam does. It's just some holdover from the '40s where they put perfectly decent meat in mediocre canned food because refrigeration wasn't as universal.

This actually tastes better than spam. It doesn’t have that salty harshness like spam has. It’s definitely a distinctly different flavor. Not like generic versions of spam that just taste like spam but with a different label. Worth trying if you’re curious since it’s so cheap. Also keep in mind it doesn’t doesn’t taste as much like ham since it’s blended with chicken.

That thing is made on the industrial scale then put into a can. That's far from the ham you could buy from a butcher(assuming you go to a real one). Who know what kind of nigger chemical is pumped into it to make it last longer.
Not saying you should ground your own meat all the time or get a true butcher, but this is probably the lowest you can get in term of meat.
