how do you go about still eating healthy when the weather starts getting cold? i tend to eat less and much cleaner when it's hot outside, but when it's cold i tend to gravitate towards comfort meals and overall heavier dishes.

i tend to gain a little weight when it gets cold. i typically start drinking again and obviously get more into carb-heavy dutch oven dishes. hard to go running, start smoking cigs again for an excuse to step outside, easier to sleep late, etc.

as long as youre not eating like a fat retard and getting mcdonalds at every opportunity because i-have-depression-when-it-gets-cold-wah youre gonna gain a little weight but you'll also shed it just as quickly.

unless you're fat already in which case join a gym and go lift before work, drink bone broth for breakfast and dont start eating until like 4 pm

Beef stew, preferably from grassfed beef (good omega 3-6 balance and rich in conjugated linoleic acid) along with some vegetables

Free range chicken, they have a varied diet, grow in the apropriate time and are happier unlike normal poultry. They have a yellow tinge in their skin due to betacarotens in their diet (picrel). Can be satuée or brased

Vegetables (ideally organic), can be done in a plethora of ways either as a standalone dish or with the meat

Basically, plenty of healthy fats and b vitamins, along with the vegetables to supply with any missing nutrient. Also important is portion, you should eat until almost full

depends what you mean by "heavier dishes", if you're cooking with plenty of butter/cream/wine/big joints of meat and so on, just exercise a bit. if you're already like 95% home cooking you'll 100% be fine, the danger of fat n such is massively overblown.

I do.
Comfort meals are perhaps what I'd call winter-based food defined by what nature calls us to seek, or winter-based behavior makes us seek out. Fats are much more comfortable to digest me when it's colder outside, especially in the temperate climates. I also eat more, which explains the heavier dishes, because I move around more, but moderation and life experience have taught me I just want to eat the best, seasonal food available. Health wise. And that's the main reason for that I pick. You can't doubt flavor in that respect.

Right now starchy tubers are some of my favorite, beets especially. Flavors are incomparable to other seasons. Apples, too. Denmark might have the best terroir for sweet-sour apples in the world with.
Other great vegetables from temperate climates best this period of year would include any cabbage and both hazel and walnuts, and grass-fed livestock is unquestionably meatier and has more nutrition overall, which implies they'd be in season as well. Oats, rye and other grains that favor temperate climates are, at least to me, all you need to stay extremely healthy most of the year as well, but my seasonal favorite this year would be pork belly, onion and apple with vinegar and thyme. Solid fats have been demonized for far too long.
