You are absolutely correct. Eggs are infinitely improved by any kind of tomato or tomato-derivative. You can put tomato right in the pan. You can add diced tomato. And yes, you can even drizzle that eggy goodness with tomato syrup. All of the above options will make your morning much spritelier.

Only time I'll put ketchup on eggs is if it's a failed/overdone omelette or a corned beef hash omelette, since that's a nostalgic dish my dad used to make me when I was young.

I remember eating this as a kid, then I grew up and it was just too sweet. I also used to eat white rice with maple syrup on it.

From what I've read, ketchup has actually gotten sweeter over the years, at least in the US. I thought it was just my tastes changing, but apparently the corn syrup tide has reached all ports.

I used to go to a super cute café for breakfast every weekend, and I became such a regular I didn't even have to ask them to hold the ketchup for me.
But this is how they normally served it.

I would say that depends on the way the egg is cooked.
Scrambled. Yeah ketchup all day

Sunny side up. Yeah I can see that

Hard boiled. That doesn't sound like it would be good.

Deviled egg. See above

Picked egg. See above.

Eggs in a nest/egg in toast. Not my taste but I can see it being good for someone.

Honestly, I think it might be to use less butter. Two pats of butter to three slices of bread, usually.
Though I don't much like butter, so I guess I really have no idea how much one would normally use.
Here's the same power breakfast minus the ketchup or butter.
