Has anyone had pic related? Wondering if it's worth $6 per jar. Ever since Jack Daniels stopped making their horseradish mustard I haven't found one I enjoy as much. Anyone have luck with making their own? Mustard general I guess

Anyway, ignoring the fact that your brain didn't progress beyond some 10th grade homeroom talk... Yeah I think I'll just try this stuff since the mustard products I have tried are so bad these days.

I've had all 3 of their varieties, good stuff, just be aware it is a different style of mustard than the more common varieties. It is a bit on the sweeter side, and even the spicy versions are not terribly hot. So closer to something of a honey mustard than Colemans, mustard flavor is still present but mild enough you can put it on nearly anything. I liked the garlic variety the most. Good for dipping pretzels or slathered on ham sandwiches. Kinda surprised to see it on /ck/ as I figured it was just a local thing.

Colman's belies the stereotype of British food being bland, It's not super hot, but it's hotter than any other mustard that you'll find on typical American shelves, definitely preferable to the "American standard" French's & Gulden's. And you can get it at American Walmarts.

The goal is not always heat, though, and there's nothing wrong with a nice mild vinegary stone-ground supermarket brand like Inglehoffer.

> I'll never be able to buy mustard that's hot enough for me

(Checked.) Eastern Europe has some real sinus-nuking mustards. That one (Zakuson) does includesan "artificial mustard oil" that I wonder about, but maybe that's how they got it so hot, like strong horseradish/wasabi. It will overpower everything else in the dish if you use more than a little.

>so every now and then I'll make a batch myself

Based. Nothing like homemade.

You should just buy it. Worst case scenario you hate it and throw it away and waste $6 but it's more likely to be "meh".

I bought pic related instead of French's last weekend and it tastes about the same but is much thicker. I try to only buy things shipped in glass because plastic is the devil and I thought the mug would be cool but it's not a screw top. I think it was $2.
