What's the best way to introduce yourself to canned sardines? Is it on bread, crackers or in pasta or something? Or do you just eat them straight from the can to see if you have a taste for it?

>> No.16796177

Eat them straight. Everything else is a luxury.

>> No.16796195

They smell so fucking bad and the consistency and taste are awful. I put some on a pizza and the whole thing got soggy even though I got the oil packed ones and carefully drained them, and it smelled like low tide and the few flies in my apartment congregated. It was based because I killed them all at once, and I ate it, but I'm still going back to canned chicken. I genuinely do not understand why you all think it's manly to eat bait with the spines left in. Is this whole deenz thing a meta shitpost about taking the bait?
The Italians are retarded, these are fish meant to catch other bigger and better tasting fish with.

When you open a can you will noticed the fishy smell: the smell is a lot more intense than the actual taste. Some people complain about bones or skin, but it becomes nearly absent if you mix and mush it up. Get the regular, plain sardines canned in oil or water first, as some of the other flavors such as mustard or tomato sauce can be very iffy depending on the brand. Some people eat them straight, but I use them more as an ingredient in other things. You can of course try them straight from the can, but if you want you can start off by making them into a spread.
>drained can of sardines
>equal amount of cream cheese
>chopped dill, garlic powder, black pepper, or other herbs/spices you want
>served on crackers
It a pretty good snack. Cheap and lots of protein for it's size. On bread, in simpler pastas, in sandwiches, mixed into fish patties are all good options too.

Slice tomato.
Cut up romaine lettuce.
Place tuna mix on toasted bread and top with sliced tomato and romaine lettuce for a delicious sandwich.

Sort of. Back in the day Corsica was apart of the Italian nation of Genoa. The country was nearly bankrupt, and Corsica had rebelled against Genoese rule, following a revolutionary leader named Pasquale Paoli. in 1767, Genoa agreed to sell the island to France, who in turn invaded and destroyed the revolutionary republic. Despite living under French rule, many Corsicans, Napoleon's family included, considered themselves more Italian than French.
