>be me
>hungry for some chicken curry
>go and buy the ingredients
>have a great time cooking, everything goes smooth
>serve myself a big portion of chicken curry and plenty rice
>notice something that doesn't look exactly like rice
>it's a worm
>see even more worms all over the rice
>check the bag
>rice is full of little white worms

I have learned my lesson, ALWAYS check your rice before cooking....bros, I'm so fucking sad and angry right now.

haha, this will teach you to eat local.
Fuckin' rice. stop eating that "exotic" shit. It doesn't make you interesting. Just eat mash potatoes ya know, something local and fresh and doesn't have to be shipped halfway around the fucking planet.

inspect the bag next time i guess? maybe it was on the shelf for quite some time.

>If you’re talking about uncooked rice, then there should be no problem: soak the uncooked rice in water and stir it briefly so than any wildlife floats to the top. The cooking process will make it safe to eat.

this is why you wash your rice, you will notice if it's been contaminated instantly.
and before a retard replies to me, I'm not saying to wash bugs out of your rice, if you find bugs during washing, throw that shit out.

how the fuck are you washing your rice if you're not literally using your hands and swishing the rice around for a few minutes?

I would instantly notice ANY texture that isn't rice.

Yeah there pretty much isn't a way to keep weevils out of grains. We all eat there eggs pretty much every day. God bless the humble weevil for giving us a little extra nutrient boost

>> No.16759795

>>16759780
lmao no

I can specifically pick out a single grain of rice that has a brown spot on it, let alone these fuckers.

If your eyesight is THAT fucking bad that you can't spot fucking rice grain sized worms in your rice, you probably shouldn't be left alone in a kitchen.

You can eat the weevils but they say their larvae are tastier and more nutricious, you can eat hazelnuts, acorn & such weevil larvae but the biggest ones are the palm weevils, so big you eat them on a skewer.

I've tasted acorn weevil larvae and they're fine roasted with some butter.
