As much as I want to love Japanese food, I can't. Outside of Ramen and Okonomiyaki most of the food has the same flavor. It's not bad by no means but it isn't isn't on my bucket list when I think of foods to try out. Why is Japanese food taste the same?

The entire point of doing yakiniku is to splurge and eat a lot more meat than you would otherwise. The way it's portioned out is deceptive and you often end up eating more meat than a full steak dinner by the end of the meal.
And, yeah, you might have some vegetables maybe but it's about the MEAT.

Maybe, but you're definitely not getting the steak experience. Average yakiniku at best offers skirt steak or harami, I think. Not to mention you'll be extremely lucky if you get any searing or crest on meat in general simply because they're so thinly cut for convenience.

raw eggs are fine taste wise, imo they taste better cooked but depending on the dish raw egg is quite pleasant. Also if bacteria is a concern quail's eggs are much safer to eat raw due to the thicker inner membrane under the shell.

a lot of japanese food that you get at restaurants have meat or veggies that are simmered/cooked in some amount (but the same combo of):

sake
mirin
soy sauce
dashi

so the flavor profiles for a good amount of the common eat-out restaurants outside of japan (even within japan) will taste like this.
