They're completely different. There's no debate unless you specify a specific application like, "you can only use one of these on eggs for the rest of your life". I probably use sriracha more often in general, but would keep Tabasco if I had to get rid of one of them. It's just such a unique flavor, and the things I use it for wouldn't be the same without it.
