Chocolate habanero, hawaiian bananas, jalapenos if from a good batch, scitch bonnets, serranos.
A lot of time I don't want heat but a container for other stuff like making rellenos, then anaheims or poblanos.
Reapers and scorpions do have a lot of flavor but also pack a punch, just don't use a ton of them.

Habanero, jalapeno and serrano are my favorites in terms of flavor. Poblanos also have a nice unique flavor. They're delicious roasted. The peppers I use the most if I'm just looking to add heat are the thais. They have a good amount of heat and a neutral flavor profile.

Habaneros: Wonderfully fruity and floral, but the flavor can be pretty overpowering if you just eat one straight up.

Pablanos: Fantastic stuffed pepper and great for moles and salsas. Even better when roasted.

Carolina Reaper: behind the absolute searing heat is a really fruity taste if you can believe it. Using them in sauces help tone down the heat and give you more of the flavor.

Pepperoncini: Probably the best pepper that you can use for pickling (Banana peppers a close second). They light up any salad or veggie dish.

I hate hot sauces that are just plain old heat, if I'm gonna burn my mouth I need flavor. The hottest I've gone so far are those Mango Habanero wings from Buffalo Wild Wings, I've read online the Scoville for it was estimated to be around 50,000. I almost never eat anything spicy so it was fucking intense when I had that first one, but it was so delicious that I couldn't stop, and by the time I reached the last two wings I had acclimated enough to handle them without any issue.

I buy dried ancho, guajillo, california, and pasilla peppers for mexican uses. Sometimes some dried bird chili peppers or chile de arbol.
I don't use much chipotle, as it tastes like fake liquid smoke in most recipes. Overused.
In jars, I'll buy pickled piquan or calabrian chiles, as well as sambal olek, minus the garlic component.
For fresh chile peppers, jalapenos, serranos, and pobalanos are always good. A rare purcahse of scotch bonnet if I am jerk marinading a big pork loin to smoke or to make a escabeche pourover garnish to fresh fish, or my pork after cooking. That escabeche vinegary marinade of onions, carrots, peppers, and spices is great, esp with a little bit over your rice.
Sauces, I like include louisiana, super chili crisp, tapatio, cholula, TJs hot yuzu. I don't need much more than that.

Reapers and scorpions are a nice complement to habaneros and anchos - they kind of bridge the gap between. If you were making a hot chili or wing sauce, 2 habaneros, a superhot and an ancho would probably do you, maybe a fresh poblano or jalapeno for some "green" freshness.
