how do you get asian places to give you actually spicy food? I'm a giant white blond dude so they assume i can't handle spice.everytime i order spicy thai or Chinese dishes that are actually spicy they never made it very hot at all. one time i was even trying to be polite and say "i want this at the hottest level" and it came out tasty but not very hot and the waitress asked me "is that too spicy for you?" and i said "no this is very tasty." but i was thinking it wasn't very hot and she said " that's a level 3 i don't think you could handle a level 5"
all i can say is I've literally eten pepperspray on fries and it wasn't that bad.
>i was a CO for years. guards get bord and dare each other if you have to test the OC spray.

but then I've had food from my asian friends from the same restaurants and it's both hotter and with more flavor. i just want to figure out how to get the asians to give me a propper order.
to any asians would i be a dick for saying
> MAKE THIS ASIAN SPICY NOT WHITE PEOPLE SPICY?

if it's one of those generic american chinese places, they don't make spicy food. if anything they can give you some hot chili crisp on the side to add to your food if you ask, but they don't generally make very spicy food

nah i live in a decently sized city and the restaurants have literal two menus one for the people making real native food and one for natives both in different languages. small enough where they see a white guy and say white people cant do spice. but big enough where there are natives. my city has 400k people in it.

it really did and i think she was in the restaurant owners family. i live in the American south and everyone but Louisianians think jalapeno is hot. I'm not louisianian but I'm married to one. that specific story happened in Oklahoma. I'm not from there either.

Weird, I moved to the American south and see people eating shittons of insanely hot things.
I also have no issue when ordering whatever level spice at Thai/Lao places. Because they’re restaurants, and give customers what they ask for.

I can attest that foreign restaurants absolutely do tone down the spice for white people, don't know why that's so hard for people in this thread to believe.

Had an east indian in the family for a while and when we ordered out for indian he would make the call because he could speak Urdu (I think that was the language) to them. It was way spicier than anything I've ever ordered, actually made my eyes water and nose runny. I've tried ordering the hottest thing on the menu from that same restaurant myself, and while it's a decent spice level it was nowhere near as high as back then.

I know the feel, asked for hottest on the menu at a thai place and it literally tasted like there was no chili peppers in it at all, the only place that will blow your ass out is a white person owned noodle place called the noodle box where it's foolhardy to order more than "hot" (there's 2 levels above it). I guess that's what I get for living in victoria canada instead of vancouver where you can find more real asian food, I just want schezuan cuisine with a metric fuckton of chili peppers and peppercorns, that so hard to ask?

>> No.16676695

>>16676204
I've come to the conclusion that you need to find a good-great asian restaurant to actually do this. I've gotten thai from multiple places around my area always asking for extra spicy or authentic spicy and the better the food quality is the spicier they can make their food.

My guess is better places have more authentic ingredients.. instead of just generic red pepper they will have actual hot peppers that have higher scovilles. Just a guess tho.

i don't understand why they assume white people can't handle spice though.

I was in Thailand, order whatever that shrimp soup is called, it was super hot (temperature), so i put it a bit to the side and waited for it to cool down. Waitress came over and asked if it was too spicy.

literally never had food spicy enough that i can't eat it. The closest i've gotten to it, was when i only ate as much as i needed to not be hungry and even then the dish came with plastic gloves (because of the amount of heat)

>> No.16676845

They tone down the spice because retarded old white people would never eat there if they got spicy food. I saw an old man in mcdonalds complaining that their barbecue sauce (which is mostly corn syrup) was too spicy. It’s easier for them to just assume all white people are like that so they don’t get negative reviews from people who can’t handle spice

Just say you want it hot with confidence. Most white people asking for medium or "1 pepper" or something so they'll know what you want. They increase the heat by adding more pepper flakes and oil anyway so it's not a natural or tasteful amount of spicy anyway. As long as you don't order white people "regular" you'll get the normal dish if you order hot.

Make a second doordash account under the name of something like an old Indian prime minister. Put in all your orders under that, delivery. The restaurant doesnt see /check the name on the card. Then ask for “spicy “.
