Do you own a butter bell? How do you like it? I've been on the fence about buying a butter bell. Please share your butter bell maintenance tips you have.

You don't need one. Get a butter dish or use a closeable container that you already have. It won't go bad. The water is unnecessary.

they will make your butter grow mold, even after a day or two.

there is no reason to use these. butter can be left out just fine.

I like that idea but it's still not needed since butter lasts just fine without a liquid barrier.

I have a butter bell, I like it. I just change the water once per week. The butter usually doesn't last a whole week anyway

I just add the 1/3 cup water and change it if I think about it
I don't like that there is water layer on the butter if you don't set it level, and then it's not good to add to the frying pan
I will stop adding water soon and just use it as a killer normal butter holder

I have used one, it's nice except you have to wait for the butter to soften before you load it up. But like the other guy said I have never seen moldy butter. Does it take you a year to go through a stick of butter or something?
