Could you live with a small kitchen?

>> No.16607119

I have a pretty small kitchen right now, it's small enough that I can't put a microwave somewhere unless I want counter space. It's fine for me, I don't cook anything too extravagant anyway.

My kitchen is smaller than this and it's perfect for two people to cook together. The only thing wrong with that pic is that they have an electric stove.
The only problem I've ever found is that I can't go nuts buying appliances because I don't have room for them.

My first apartment had a small kitchen and it was OK because my roommate and I were both clean people. I inherited my mom's house a few years later and its kitchen is huge but I made the mistake of letting a retard live with me so there was always something on every horizontal surface including the sink and that was awful.

Absolutely, live in nyc kitchen is only 8x16, counter depth fridge with a second in the basement for overflow helps. This is what the main room looks like.
Not much, but it works.
The space above the cupboards on the right is a raised space where you sleep.
Sometimes they have an actual ladder leading to a capsule-hotel-style loft above the kitchen to sleep in instead.

It's not much, but it's your own 1 room apartment for $600/mo. $50/mo for utilities and free gigabit fiber internet.
In the West you'll easily pay $250/week to have a bedroom in a share house that's 20min walk from anything. Let alone good luck finding your own apartment that cheap.

>Could you live with a small kitchen?
I kitchen'd on my covered patio for like 7 months during a lengthy kitchen remodel, doing the microwave, BBQ grill, outdoor kitchen area, and mini fridge. Garden hose to wash dishes for about a month of it. It was hell, and even then, I could eat out or do takeout at whim, since there was no pandemic.
Little kitchens are alright for those eating out a great deal, but you have to have a big fridge or go insane.
My sister rented a 1/1 during medical school in DC, where a lot of apartments are military era styled with tiny closets for a handful of outfits. Whoever leased it had remodeled a long linen closet into a basic kitchen along a wall, but it had smart design, with a deep farmsink, full dishwasher, extra deep thomasville cabinets top and bottom, and high end fridge. If no one was a cheapass, you can do small really well. It was quite gourmet really, even had good countertop space. She added a high top table for the dining area to increase that countertop area.

I am so triggered by most apartment kitchens in my country. Dumbfuck landlords get them renovated and have no idea what they are doing:

>no dishwasher slot
>tiny sink
>cabinets are poorly placed
>cheapskate fridge with a tiny freezer compartment
>terrible stoves with terrible ovens
>LOUD stove fan
>garbage materials that look like ass in 5 years
>flimsy compartmentalized trash bag holders
>the cheapest kitchen appliances you can find because appliances that are pleasant to use and actually last for decades cost 20%-30% more
>overpriced fluorescent lamps instead of cheap and reliable LED strips because they are mentally stuck in the 70's
>two electrical sockets AT MAXIMUM

fucking boomers

I can live with a bathroom sink and a hot plate, I think I could live with a small kitchen.
Do I want to? No.

New rules in the electrical code say no more two gang GFCI plugs in the kitchen. So say goodbye to these in future buildings.

This honestly looks like my kitchen minus the window. Bought a baker's rack for my skillets/baking pans which is kept in another room, and then keep my big utensil cup on the stovetop to save space.

I have a kitchen around that size. I'd maybe like a bit more table top space but other than that it's fine for one person.

I have had many fights with my boyfriend over how small our kitchen is, it's fucking irritating the way he is constantly in my way. It's easier to blame the kitchen than to blame him for being a blundering fool that doesn't know how to get out of my fucking way. Like I'll have a pot of hot noodles I need to drain in the sink and I'm walking towards it and he'll step right in my path and almost make me drop it
