"Struggle meal" is code for "I don't know how to cook so I prepare packaged food instead of ordering takeout when I'm broke".

I don't get it because a meal of:

>2 slices of bread
>1-2 tbsp of butter
>1-2 tsp of sugar and cinnamon
>maybe a glass of milk

Is a decent enough breakfast. Not much protein, but we're looking at around 650 calories at the high end.

My mom and dad are end stage boomers and neither knows how to cook. As early as 12 I was coming home from school after not eating lunch because there was never anything at home to pack in for a school lunch and I didn't get money to buy hot lunch at school.

So as soon as I got home I'd either make myself a 4 egg omlet with cheese or three bologna sandwiches. That's all I'd eat that day usually.

>”struggle meals”
How the fuck are those struggle meals?
Eggs are good protein.
Franks & Boston-style beans have a lot of nutrition and are rather calorie-dense.
And who eats cinnamon sugar toast as a “meal”? Especially if they’re poor? It’s more of a treat.

The only part of the image which makes sense is the $0.15 shitty ramen.
The punchline is that Maruchan, a Japanese company, doesn’t even sell that shit in Japan. Because of how shit those noodles are even by shitty instant noodle standards, and the fact they’re known for actually good instant noodles there.
