spicy refried blackbeans, cheese, flour tortilla, rolled tightly, fried in a skilled with oil until outside is crisp. served with salsa verde on the side.

anything you wanna put in a fancy burrito goes on the side. sour cream, guacamole, spanish rice, meat, salad, fried potatoes -- none of it goes in the burrito.

Depends on what you like.
I cook dried beans with garlic cloves and ancho peppers. I usually add more stuff afterwards and mash the beans up before I make anything with them. Cilantro maybe. hot peppers. Sage if I’m making nachos with them (it tastes “meaty”). I mix a small amount of salsa into my beans a lot, so I guess I’m breaking my own rule there. Bought a can of this and put it in burrito beans last week, it was pretty good.

Pick up like 10+ cans whenever you get some. It's super convienent to just have on hand whenever you need a spicy kick on something.
I use it to make some damn good Mexican rice. Lightly brown a cup of white rice in a pan with some oil. Add 10oz of water, one of those El Patos and some minced garlic. Bring to a boil then turn on low and cover for 20 minutes.
