I grew up on the street behind this place on 12 Mile Rd. and Mound in Warren Michigan, which was built back in 1976 as a Stag & Hound upscale restaurant that was pretty successful for 10 years or so but in the years since, there have been dozens of different restaurants operating out of the same building and NOT A SINGLE ONE has lasted more then a couple of years. It’s just been renovated once again, (pic related was the last incarnation) this time as a Louisiana Crab Shack. We’ll see how long they last.

My theory is that the building is cursed because it’s build on an Indian burial ground, as Mound Road supposedly got its name because there were all kinda Indian burial mounds in the area.

It’s the only thing I can think of, as the restaurants were good (the coney joint and before that, a BBQ place) but the ALL of them go out of business after a couple of years (sometimes within one year!) and furthermore, the place is only 1/4 mile from GM’s Tech Center, so you’d think they’d be getting plenty of business from the thousands of people who work there?

I will say that before it was built, it was the last patch of woods on my street and I must have in 2nd grade when I went exploring with a buddy and we discovered a tiny ramshackle abandoned house in the middle of the property, which we also explored and inside the living room was a huge drafting table and I found an oldy timey lunch box in the kitchen that I took.

I always check to make sure my door is locked before I leave the hotel. One time I managed to find a faulty doorknob that could be unlocked if you turned it hard enough. Like most lock just by closin them, so some people put the door card in the lock because they comin back in like 3 minutes if they pickin up eats.
