I checked my fridge this morning and realized I own over a dozen varieties of hot sauces and noticed hot ones in my YouTube feed. Am I becoming a "hot sauce guy" like picrel?

allowing still images and drawings to dictate your life is cringe. do what makes you happy

This. Go get another bottle of sauce if it makes you happy. Fuck the retards who say otherwise.

I'm in kind of a similar predicament. I went to my parents house the other day and my dad was in the kitchen taking pictures of hot sauce. I asked what in the hell he was doing and he said that him and a guy from work were sharing pictures of their hot sauce collections. He showed me a picture the guy sent and this guy is full-on neckbeard, mouth agape, aardvark, the whole works. I'm unsure about how to handle this. My dad is 65 years old. Way too old to be turning into reddit.

Imo the only essential hot sauces to have at the ready are Tobasco and Cholula. Anything more is just decadence.

What kind of retard buys hot sauce and doesn't use them? I never have more than two bottles on hand because I actually consume it.

I have the least amount of sauces to cover my bases of the 3 main flavors I want, and these are all low vinegar
My fridge:
Louisiana Crystal
Valentina/Tapatio (they taste so similar)
Cholula
...for greens
Trappeys hot pepper vinegar

...and for toppings:
Hot Crispy Oil (and improved more gourmet american made version of lao gan ma chinese spicy chili crisp)
Don Chilio habanero crisp (great with caribbean food)

...and for recipes:
sambal oelek chili paste (not chili-garlic, since bottled garlic is gross)
raw serrano peppers or jalapenos
Bags of dried ancho peppers, california guajillo and pasilla peppers
jarred pepperoncini
jarred pickled cherry peppers
thai bird chili plant on the patio (parrot loves them) but also good in stir fries

In the summer, I keep "candied jalapenos" in my fridge. It is from a cheat recipe I got from Southern Living one time. Dump liquid from a jar of 12oz sliced jalapenos into bowl, add 3/4 c sugar, all the zest of 2 limes, an 3-4 sliced red fresno chili peppers (looks like a red jalapeno). Replace in jar to top off the green jalapenos or decant to larger jar. Shake up to dissolve sugar and chill a day. Keeps for weeks. AWESOME sweet hot, lime flavored topping for things like deviled eggs, dogs, potato salad, and cold sliced beef sandwiches, even popcorn.

no you're just a tastelet

I used to know a guy that collected liquor bottles because he liked the different labels. He wouldn't even drink out of them. Do hot sauce collectors suffer from a similar type of autism? Maybe they're collecting for the labels and the hot sauce is simply a byproduct of that.
