Is it just me or is food way more expensive?
I had to pay like $13 for my typical nuggie meal at mcdonalds yesterday.

20 piece mcnuggets with sweet and sour sauce + honey mustard (I have hunts 100% natural ketchup and sweet baby ray's bbq sauce at home to add as well for 4 sauces in total), a medium iced tea, and a large french fries.

Just read an article in a local newspaper that a half liter of beer in the center of Munich is now between 5.30€ and 5.60€. What the fuck man. Out in the boonies it is still under 3€.

Nah, most of McDonald's income comes from rent paid by franchisees, and their few corporate locations are insanely profitable for some reason.

Their food business only pays a second fiddle to their real estate business.
