Homosexuals have a neurotic aversion to tobacco because it is reminiscent of religious rituals and exorcisms whereby smoke would expel their demons and there is none worse than that of impurity. The Smoking Scare Debunked, a book written by a physician, refuted TOBACCO BAD argument to its core and it still stands true today. Antismoking "science" is a moralizing campaign that relies on interpretive statistics which R is fitted to whatever hypothesis the researchers fabricate. There is no hard evidence tobacco causes cancer. To date, scientists have never been able to induce cancer in any experimental model involving healthy subjects (ie animals) which is a bar that establishes carcinogenity in any other instance.

Just don't eat industrially processed seed oils aka (((vegetable oils))) and it won't matter.

If you consume a lot of polyunsaturated fats from seed oils, will smoking increase your risk of lung/mouth cancer? Sure. If you can't cut the polyunsaturated fats out of your diet for some reason, then it would be risky to smoke.

It might seem like an exaggeration, but it's probably true.

We have not been able to cause lung cancers in animals from smoking. Maybe it just works differently in animals?

Cancer, and particularly lung cancer have not reduced in proportion with the reduction in smoking in western countries. They are also not increased in proportion to the higher smoking rates seen in the east and asia.

Meanwhile cancers, heart disease and type 2 diabetes are all much higher in countries that have a high consumption of seed oils.

I don't think it is a good idea to inhale the combustion products of anything. I don't think it is healthy to smoke, especially not to excess, but the fact is that the link between smoking and cancer is very tenuous.

Anyone who smokes and is worried about cancer would reduce their risk more by cutting out seed oils than stopping smoking. (Unless you smoke 3 packs a day, then sure cut down on that first, but most posters in these threads are only talking about occasional pipe smoking anyway)

I'm new to Tobacco / Smoking, I never liked the proccess of inhaling cigarettes and it always smelt and tasted gross, I never really tried Cigar's myself
but the idea of smoking has always interested me and I thought I might like it if I didn't inhale & it wasn't gross cigarette's

So, as you see in the pic, this is what I recently purchased (with the help of a friend) Pipe smoking seems interesting and I want to give it a go

While I've been waiting for all of this to arrival, I'm been watching a lot of youtube pipe-related channels, (Muttnchop Piper, STUFFandTHINGS, HolySmokeNPipePadre, The Bearded Welshman, and George Bruno) and I feel like I have a relative grasp on what to expect and do

Slow Down, Don't be afraid to relight, use matches or at the very least not a zippo. when youre trying different tobacco for the first time if it doesnt really taste right, try a different pipe. And take care of your cobs, they're good. If I really wanna clean mine just take some whiskey on a soft rag and wipe down the inside after cleaning it, dont need to do this often but I had a blend I was not a fan of and I enjoyed the results.

All I can really think of, just try to enjoy it and if you don't that's fine too.

Thank you!
In a way, it's good I don't come from smoking where you go fast, it means my perception of smoking isn't influenced and I know that it's not a quick thing to smoke a pipe, it'll be 40minutes+ usually and to really not rush (so the bowl doesn't get too hot) which is what I want actually, the longer the better for me
My friend told me to use matches for now, which I will, it's kinda good because I also get a visual aid / timer to tell me how long I atleast should be lighting for the false light
but down the line, those specialty lighters do look nice, but I won't buy them until I know I enjoy smoking a pipe

Well I only got those 2 corn cobs at the moment, to alternate, but yeah down the line I know you semi-match certain blends & tobacco to the wood/pipe

thank you for the more "deep" cleaning advice!

I had a question for you, there's a couple thoughts I've seen
one is leaving the pipe cleaner inside for a few hours after you're done, and the other is just your normal cleaning after
What do you subscribe to?

Turns out ANY particulate matter, like burnt carbon, isn't good for your lungs. Same shit happens to miners with silica dust and high volume bakers with flour. Its the reason smoking pot is both good/bad for cancer. THC helps, the particulate carbon sticks to your lungs. Generally the human body is pretty shitty at not getting cancer.

Cobs are also ok on trips since you don't want to ruin a good pipe, but still you will constantly thinking why you don't bring a briar with you while smoking a cob
Unless you want to smoke while working or doing somethin (I personally woudn't, smoking should be a break and relax)

Anon, it really depends on your taste. Don't be afraid if being wrong, especially about tobacco in the beginning, you have to experiment to find what you like.
Some people like strong aromatics, some don't. I hated st. bruno flakes while the majority of people likes it. Every pipe smoker has a couple of tins/bag that are in the shelf for years.

First of all, learn how to smoke, because it will almost surely very frustrating in the beginning.
Don't be afraid of making mistakes and don't be in a hurry to learn.
Then if you will start liking it, you'll buy more pipes to pair with differnt tobacco mixtures and you'll start to know what you like.

It also could be you will find pipes so frustrating that you'll switch to cigars

I don't see the problem with this. Naturopathic medicine is about correcting the diet and lifestyle, not pseudoscience like homeopathy. It's me again

Everything arrived yesterday. they doubled up on my second order of x2 £25 Briar pipes & x2 peterson's 965 by accident which is nice

Had a session yesterday in one of the Briar Pipes, with Petersons Killarny
Relit loads, and got what people describe as tongue bite, but it was enjoyable and the taste was great

Today was better, I used one of the corn cobs with 1982 erik's founders blend, had to relight fairly often still but not as much, didn't get tongue bite but often I was burning too hot
Very nice tobacco, better than Killarny, really enjoyable session

I feel like I'm taking too long though? took me like 1hr 30 - 2hrs to finish, constantly managing the heat and relighting, so I think I just need to work on my rhythm and get a good sense about everything, just comes with pratice I suppose

So far the corn cob was better, I feel like the briar pipe was a little too heavy & it's easier for it to burn hotter

The best chefs are smokers. Smoking positively influences taste by means of olfactory neurogenesis, something you are entirely ignorant of. The bitterants in tobacco also subdue and increase the ability to discern those in other compounds which is why black coffee and quininated drinks are innumerably better and more nuanced for smokers. You're probably just a child that likes sweet things like candy and milkshakes and are upset smoking doesn't agree or confer many benefits to those sickening foods. do whatever you want, dont let some nerd tell you you're smoking wrong, its insane. smoke fast, slow, hot, cold, big, small, night blends in the morning, dont get hung up on doing it the "right" way.
good beginners packing strategy, again do whatever makes you happy
fill it to the brim, stuff it down gently, repeat. Each time you repeat the amount will be smaller cause theres less space. do it maybe 3 times.
Bent pipes kind of work backwards, the idea is it stops crap from coming up in your mouth, but the bent shape causes small amounts of saliva to go down easier, causing gurgling and spitting.

im not saying its easier to smoke when its moist.
But you are affecting the flavour.
You should always relight the tobacco when you start smoking. ( light it, puff a couple, crush the tobacco a lil and light it again)
It is a skill smoking pipe tobacco, dont be afraid of relighting- just try to extract and assimilate the complex flavours.

Not at all. You can tell the nicotine is there in extremely potent blends like Irish Flake, but it doesn't hit like a cigarette does. I wouldn't be surprised if it was literally impossible to become chemically dependent smoking pipes.

Have you ever tried smoking a Samuel Gawith blend right out of the tin? Some blends just need some drying time to make them smokable. Forcing yourself to smoke a blend too wet causes steam and can lead to tongue-bite.

Here is an interesting video from Muttnchop Piper on pipe bite with some interesting chemical reasons for tongue bite.

https://youtu.be/HjxcUWxRoBU

Technique is paramount but the blend and moisture also contribute a good deal to your experience.

Small Update
since everything came, I believe I smoked everyday since, twice on one day
Generally learning, getting the hang of things, going through the motions of a beginner

I didn't smoke today (Well, yesterday) but tonight, I went for the Stokkebye, I decided for the first time, I'd go outside and sit in my comfy chair (similar to pic) I didn't bring my phone, or a book, or anything else (mind you, 12:30 at night)

It was just me & the pipe
I cant rememeber the last time I felt so relaxed, thoughts would come up from time to time, but inbetween, was me off in space
I stopped caring if I was doing it correctly, or how many times im relighting, if im tamping too hard or too soft, not staying lit, stoped worrying if the bowl was getting too hot, everything felt ok
my breathing slowed down, i felt intune with what I was doing, everything drifted away, and inreturn, it was the easiest and also best session I've had

I love that tobacco by the way, i think it's my favourite, I used the briar pipe which was excellent

thanks for reading my blog haha, and thank you to those who helped & guided me here

Hello, having problems with using a pipe and need help. I got an MM corncob and some captain black vanilla, the problem is that I have to constantly relight my pipe and my sessions seem rather quick, I also don't know if I'm drawing correctly. I pack somewhat lightly I guess but once I manage to get a light I basically lose it after about a minute even when using 2-3 matches, the smoke gradually seems to be less and less, and then just dies. I tamp now and then but that seems to just aid the death of the light even more, I know I'm not inhaling but perhaps drawing lightly, and too frequently as I notice the bowl gets hot but I do that because when I wait the tobacco goes out and I have to relight again. My sessions last 30-40 minutes and I am not getting much taste and I feel I'm going too fast. Should I pack more tightly? Is my draw improper? What's going on?

When you check you draw it should be about the same resistance as sipping a milkshake through a straw.

Once you get your packing and smoking technique down things will click and should become a lot more enjoyable. Also there is no shame in relighting if your pipe goes out.

Had the Peterson Killarny just now, good session
before I wasn't able to keep this tobacco cool, it would always turn really hot and I'd have to set it down or stop and let it go out

but I'm starting to find the rythm, breathing in and out of my nose, every now and then "sipping" the pipe and breating the smoke out with my nose, and breathing smoke back through the pipe to maintain the coolness, every so often letting smoke come out of my mouth, and if getting too hot stop the sipping and gently blow back through the wipe

and learning how to pack each tobacco better, all this makes me tamp less and relight less (not that it matters)

Decided to bring a book with me this time, As I Lay Dying by Faulkner

It's not one of my favourite tobacco's out of the bunch, which would be the 975 & Stokkebye, but still an easy going & enjoyable smoke (if I maintain the heat)

oh yes, you wanted to know briar vs corn cob as a starter

Unfortunatly, I'll dissapoint both camps

The Briar, it's nice to use, look at and hold, and enhances the session, it's nice as a beginner that way

The corn cob, it's not as appealing to me, i don't think they look really all that nice, It doesn't enhance the session in anyway, the Stem material is not really nice to hold in the mouth/clench, and it feels sort of bad to be using something you'll probably be not using or just throwing away in a year or two (or less)

but, as a beginner, the corn cob makes the smoke cooler than the briar, which for aromatics, is a plus (which a lot of beginners I think would smoke) it's also worry-free, I have singed the rim of the bowl, but I don't care because it's a corn cob
and the bar for entry is a lot cheaper, £7 vs £25, you could use the extra money for another tobacco to try

so, Im in both camps, i prefer using the briar, but the corn cob has clear advantages for a beginner

>reminiscent of religious rituals and exorcisms whereby smoke would expel their demons

No joke this happened to me on Sept. 12 @ ~12:30AM. I was heavily depressed, on edibles, and having a cigar listening to someone on youtube praying to God. I was laying in bed when all of a sudden I started inhaling and exhaling extremely hard. I leaned back on my pillows and my chest arched upwards while breathing extremely heavy. Like I was being pulled up to the ceiling by my rib cage. I instinctively used my right hand to hold my chest down until I was finished less than a minute later.

Afterwards I suddenly had a flash memory of when I had moved into my brother's bedroom a little over 10 years ago. I was trying to take a nap after a college class and all of a sudden I experienced extreme sleep paralysis and a little girl appeared in the corner where the door frame met the side wall. She rushed me and started wispering something unintelligible for a few seconds. I was frightened so I asked God for protection and then it was over. That moment it was a turning point spiritually and I slowly stopped being able to perform religious rites. It became harder to pray leading me to my most irrelgious life over the next 12 years.

After I relaxed and was able to absorb what happened, I realized I had sweat around my eyes and all my emotional and spiritual distress disappeared and I had this laser-like focus and was able to percieve things differently. I lifted my head up to see my cat stairing in some sort of disbelief incredibly wide-eyed with enlarged pupils.

Since then, I have smoked either a pipe or cigar without fail and have slowly lifted myself out of an extreme depression. There is something extremely powerful about tobacco and I am never giving it up.

I'm able to give some "fresh" info

I'm just over a week into smoking a pipe, smoked once or twice a day since, and after this time I feel like I've gotten the hang of it where I'm able to forget that the pipe is there

So it doesn't take long, typically, to get into a groove to where you're not constantly thinking/fiddling about the pipe

You're probably smoking too hot on your certain blends, some blends you have to be more careful with to not get too hot
but it's also because your mouth/tongue isn't used to the smoke yet, so it may feel irriated (this will go quite quickly)

Muttonchop piper is my religion, his breath technique video is perfect, although it's hard to really get a grasp of what he's talking about, later, you'll realize he hits the nail on the head (though this isn't a method, it's just what will come naturally after a while to all)
for the stuff im smoking, it's impossible for me to burn it too hot now, and I only need to relight a couple of times (mostly due to me not tamping)

keep going at it, it's daunting at the start, but you'll get the hang of it quicker than you know

Toscabos are cheap and I wouldn't buy them if I could t get them at average German prices, less than ten Euros a pack of five. The biggest drawback is, ironically the draw. They're very tight cigars and even with massaging and a draw poker you'll need to fidget with them as you smoke them. But an hour to a half to two hours of an interesting fire cured burley smoke? Worth it.

Also next cocktail and cigar, a Mustique Blue panatella.

No worries about that. I should buy one of those Italian Toscano pipes to finish them off in though.

Try Peterson 965. Really nice flavor without the burley you hate.

Most of the stuff you find in drugstores.
Burley-based, mild to no obvious flavoring, and easy to smoke all day.

Good post, don't forget tobacco downregulates ACE-2 in the lungs and consequently smokers have drastically lower instances of COVID-19. The particulate matter also vamps up the immune system in the lung, which makes it primed up already. I have not worn a mask or taken the vaccine, despite working in a medical setting with dozens of different people day in and day out and having had several friends already infected with oppertunities to infect me, not one serological test has shown antibodies yet. (I get one every few weeks for free).

There was this meme on /sci/ where there were three packs of unfiltered cigarettes that said "No thanks, I already have my vaccine". I couldn't reply because 4chan is blocked in ISP in my practice. That indeed is the case. I smile as few people in my occupation smoke. You are stupid if you examine the evidence for yourself and still do not smoke.

The brainlets in the comment section cannot reconcile it. It is so paradoxical to what they would expect that the only explanation is MUH BIG TOBACCO DID THIS.

First cigar I ever smoked, the photo is blurry but it’s a Montecristo Monte blended by AJ Fernandez. It honestly just tasted like burnt leaves but a good experience nonetheless

The Cuban government has a history of human rights abuses and homophobia. Even if the sanctions weren't in place, I wouldn't buy a cigar from them. My uncle is gay.
