he is more of a history channel and less of a cooking one given 90%+ of his content is just talking about the history surrounding a certain food
on top of that, he frequently puts minimal effort into cooking his dishes and staying within historical guidelines which defeats the whole fucking purpose
he's also a narcissistic faggot with most of the footage involving his uncanny face rather than historical references or the cooking process. his cringe-tier personal life and annoying annunciation+mannerisms are a frequent occurrence (every time he tries to say something of spanish origin he goes overboard and postures like a goddamn twink)
that being said, i can see why people would like his content, he delivers a plethora of interesting facts; to each their own i guess - hating him isnt a hill worth dying on to me.

townsends, although i dont watch his content because i dont find historical america interesting, at least stays true to historical methods as opposed to the rampant corner cutting of tasting history. if he just put more effort into his cooking - and documented it - his channel would be a godsend.
foodwishes, on the other hand, is an excellent resource with great recipes, so if you're looking for someone who pleases me, personally, well there you go. i dont like him as a person, but he is a well of knowledge (especially to someone at my level).
watch what you like, you dont need a majority approval on this miserable board. just cook cool dishes or offer cooking advice here.

If you haven't seen the Ms. Crocombe videos I recommend those ones too. It is Bri'ish food and Victorian so a lot of it doesn't seem appetizing but if you're interested in more historically accurate cooking methods you might find this entertaining.

For actual edible food I agree with you about Food Wishes and will also recommend CookingInRussia.
