They don't care at all about their products they sell, zero quality control and then hide under the "woe is me, I'm just a small business mom and pop don't criticize me!". I ate at a really shitty looking but busy diner a little while ago cause all the fast food places were still covid cucked and wouldn't let you eat in and the kitchen was completely open righf behind fhe bar, and you could see they were using walmart bread and the cheapest looking frozen fries but honestly the burger I got was fine, and cost the same 12 bucks a meal at mcdonalds would have. This is usually my experience with diners, overpriced as hell nowadays but fine, it has a place for when you're hungry and doing other shit.

I worked in food distribution and I can tell you 90% of your "mom and pop" style diners are buying their food premade and they microwave it before serving it to you. Always very friendly people, but they're serving you food you can buy at 3 dollars for a 10 pound box in a warehouse at distributor prices, they charge you 10+ bucks a plate plus tip for it. It's a scam and everyone in the industry knows it. Furthermore, pretending it isn't a scam in an attempt to compassion-flex on anonymous shitposters over the internet is the weirdest fucking human behavior I've ever seen.
