I cannot figure out why people like this. Pickles are like little pockets of vinegar.

This conversation is bullshit.

The combination of ketchup, mustard, onion and pickle is simply the backbone of the american cheeseburger, as it has been for over 60 years. Mayhaps one item or another isn't a favorite, but together, they still make the team that is burger.

Lettuce, tomato, and mayo, however, are the refinements which have allowed burgers to ascend into levels of sheer tastiness not offered prior. I will not suffer any fool who denies the deliciousness of the Wendy's jr bacon cheeseburger, a finely crafted burger if ever there was one.

And finally, those of you that dislike any particular ingredients, in general, are uncultured shit. What grown ass man has never enjoyed an heirloom tomato, and yet would have the gall to open their ignorant mouths and show the world their dumbassedness.

Saying you don't like burgers because some of them have tomato on them is like saying incest is wrong because some incestuous relationships have imbalanced power dynamics in them.

Stop it.

>> No.16318887

everybody in this thread doesn't know how to top a burger.
from top to bottom:
>top bun
>sauteed mushrooms
>raw yellow onion
>bacon
>dill pickle slices
>cheese
>burger
>lettuce
>bottom bun
any other way is just wasting your fucking burger on flavors that don't need to be there.

I never liked it either, and I pride myself on eating odd overpowering stuff. Limberger and liverwurst with strong mustard on pumpernickel? Good stuff. A single pickle on my fast food burger? Yuck.

I will say that bread and butter pickles put on fresh off the grill is nice. But the vinegar soaking into the bun is just not for me.
