Most of /ck/ thinks its great and eats it or an equivalent regularly. But there is not much to discuss, it doesn't make for attractive photos, and why would anyone come to a cooking forum to talk about it? Doctor it up with extra spices, cheese, additions like a can of beans or random vegetables.

Trash garbage food that i only eat once in a blue moon, but when i get the hankering for it nothing else will do.

>> No.16261005

i don't eat it often but when i do i very much enjoy it. i always add ssome frozen corn to mine because I've done it as long as i can remember. the stroganoff and beef pasta are the best two imo. i will never understand the Italian ones though because just like. get a jar of sauce and some pasta it's no extra work or really even price.

i started cooking at like 4. i almost got in trouble for it but i woke up decided i was hungry, pulled a chair up the the stove and since i had been "helping" my grandmother cook i got it. i made bacon eggs and toast for both of my grandparents and since i didn't burn the house down and managed scrambled eggs and bacon without messing it up my grandmother started teaching me to cook properly. i say start them young in the kitchen. they couldn't

Love that stuff, but as I got older found it too salty. Maybe they make a low sodium version for sensitive snowflakes like myself?

the only good one is Lasagna, and you have to use less water than the box says, and not cook it as long. it's as if the box is made for people who like their pasta extremely mushy and overcooked. all the ones that say to use milk turn out disgusting especially stroganoff and tuna gratin

great bachelor food, and a good stepping stone into cooking better meals

For a young cook, it might be educational and first step to know you actually can do a one-skillet meal with a basic pound of hamburger.

Pros:
it's all premeasured in a box.
Tend to be about $1 with coupon/sales, so some people might buy them over and over. They will have secret ingredients like mushroom powder, some browned flavors, powdered garlic, and thickeners, and might taste somewhat better than what you do from scratch.

Cons:
nothing fresh, all dried herbs
thin very floppy noodles that rehydrate quickly in a pot, so unsatisfying mush texture
mature palate might want something better and will absolutely want another topping, another ingredient, just something one bit better

>Mac and cheese + anything
No matter what, it always just tastes like plain old mac and cheese to me. Massively disappointing every single time.

I think I made Chicken Alfredo helper, but I used some bacon and left some grease in there. It created a delicious salty blend of bacon flavor and fat. It was delicious and can't wait to make it again.

>> No.16265110

>>16265058

Yea whether you use bacon or beef, it's good to leave at least some grease in the pan for flavor, but if you leave too much the sauce won't be as thick. If you added too much water you can try adding some shredded cheese or velveeta to thicken it back up.
