ok so I'm not going to go look up anything I'm going to reference from memory, but as a young, impressionable lad I thought our mayor of flavor town was mostly just a joke, a punching bag for culinary elites. But recently in a lockdown induced stupor I actually got fed up to the point I watched a few episodes of triple D and was surprised I sort of liked the fellow. His look is rather polarizing but the character he presents is a bit more complex than I gave him credit for. He often exhibits a somewhat veiled antagonism or suspicion for some of the cooks, and even questions some of their techniques. I looked him up and it turns out that in his personal life he's more of a vegetable focused eater and iirc he went to a decent culinary school in Europe. I'm not sure why I'm defending the guy but during lockdown they showed him at his mansion with his kids and they didn't seem to hate him and it seemed like he could genuinely cook. He might really just be playing a character on tv that makes him mad dosh.
