Thanks it was great. Here's a better picture.

>> No.16119405

Potato skins with cheese and bacon? Looks kinda sloppa-ish, the cheese should be melted. Asparagus with tons of garlic? Doesn't do justice to the asparagus. Steak is nicely seared and nicely cooked to medium.

Personally I'd drop the garlic on the asparagus and rather have a baked potato with garlic butter. As it is it appears as a "more is more"-approach that ends up being too much.

You really are a twat-waffle. The plate as shown here is better than 90% of what's posted on this channel, and here you are, the Gordon Ramsay of /ck trying to "save" this guy's "restaurant". I'm shocked that you didn't comment on the quality of his dining table, or of the aluminium lamp stand.

I probably wouldn't put so much stuff on the potatoes. I prefer a bit of sour cream and some salt and pepper. That's just me though. A slice of lemon for the asparagus would be good too.

These are legitimate criticisms though. I didn't even know wtf that cheese thing was. Steak looks perfect though. I would recommend getting a serrated steak knife so you don't have to bother sharpening them all the time.

That is actually a baked potato with English cheddar and bacon. I like my baked potatoes loaded. To each their own. I also like lots of garlic with my vegetables.

Understand. Sometimes simple is better. The cheese really did complement the potato though. Lemon is a great suggestion though.
>>16119702
Great value. I think I paid $23 at the NH Liquor outlet. It was light for a Bordeaux with lots of fresh fruit and red berry. Dry without being astringent and tannin-forward.

It's medium on the rare side but from what you can see on the picture, it's clearly closer to medium than medium rare. I know though that many Americans got the scale rmessed up an call medium rare: rare, medium: medium rare, medium well: medium. Basically just call everything one step less than what it really is. Why do americans do this?

>> No.16121618

>>16120420
Also why do "medium rare"-fags get this angry when you point out their "medium rare" in reality is medium? It's totally ok to prefer medium.

It looks good, but there is exactly zero creativity in it. This is the meal pretty much every single man makes for himself when he has $20ish to spend on a dinner for himself. Its a middle of the road meal, not great, not bad, just ok.

Yeah but even something simple needs to be cooked well, he did a good job.

It's actually a baked potato with butter, Cheddar, and, bacon. It was a Delmonico steak. Also known as a boneless ribeye. My local grocery store has been trying to pivot to higher quality so they have USDA Prime beef for $18.99 a pound. Here's a pic of the steak before cooking.

I used canola oil (which I normally try and avoid because of PUFAs). The key is to get the pan and oil screaming hot. To the point it is concerning.

One time like a dumbass I had 3 table spoons of water sizzling in the pan before i put in some oil, the entire pan instantly burst into flames and the fireball shot up to the roof for 8 seconds until it burned out. I live with my mom and she would have had a heart attack if she saw that shit lmao.
