It's misleading as hell anyway. For example the average American is going to judge Chinese cuisine on egg rolls and kung pao chicken and Japanese on sushi and ramen, of which 99% have had but only a small minority have had the actual daily cuisine. Meanwhile an American eating Peruvian or Indonesian eating Finnish cuisine is exponentially more likely to have experienced their daily cuisine because they're not on every street corner with a couple inoffensive decent staples with worldwide appeal

i do miss my grandmother's cooking though. making flip dishes in America with better ingredients makes for good food. For example the sinigang with salmon is great, adobo steak or pork shoulder, baked pork belly and bulalo with huge fat bok choy stalks in it are dank.
