Is it any good? I've only tried legit made-fresh Mexican food once in my life and was pleased with what I had.

Even when that's technically a mushroom it is considered a fancy delicacy in mexican cooking, I do wonder how the fuck do they plate it or if they expect people to eat straight from the infected corn though.

I'm curious about the taste of these things. Might not be bad at all.

I'm currently trying to inoculate my own. I figure if I soak the seed in a culture before planting I stand a good chance of growing it. Corn planting starts next month but I'm having a hard time finding huit that hasn't been processed in some way

I've seen it a couple times, either fire roasted on the cob, or the cut it and cook it up in a taco.

It's good, has the consistency of any champignon when si not all scrambled, but has much more flavor, plus many people prepare ir along the corn to give crunch.

It's prepared with some butter, onion, garlic and salt to taste, served on ((soft)) tacos, with some beans, and dried chiles salsa. It's good but not foe everyone, I enjoy it more un quesadillas.

mexican here. this goes great in quesadillas! saute onions, dont caramelize them. add in your corn truffles, add a lil bit of stock, water works too but season with a tomato flavor bouillon. obviously dont drowned the stuff, lastly add tomatoes and cook until most of the water is out. you can aslo make it with squash blossoms!!

also look for it in a jar, usually in brine and it should still have a blue color

I'm not mexican and barely related, but when squash borers fuckedy zucchini plants I picked all the unopened flowers, dredged them in beer mixed with flour, and fried them up. Really fucking tasty snack.

I do find it looks repulsive. I'd probably want to try it in a taco or quesadilla. Out of sight, out of mind.
