Professionally-trained chefs, for indeed he is one, don't know much about cooking because they learn in it a school, and because they lack experience, they heavily rely on gadgets like cooking thermometers, mixers, and other things. Even some professional pastry chefs would be lost if you took away their toys.

While there is some truth to this, it's also kind of a ridiculous argument to make. Every good tool you can use in the kitchen is technically a cheat, whether it's sharp knives, copper sauce pans, etc.

My main problem with Josh is his personality more than anything. He's a decent cook who can follow procedures and can even improve upon recipes a little. His personality is grating.

As much as people shit on Binging with Reddit and Fagusea, they are light years ahead of Josh in the charisma department.
