Yeah, I'm skinny but have high blood pressure at 35. I know it's the sodium in my diet, but I'm not ready to address this issue.

The medication for it is only like 12$ for 3 months and high blood pressure will fuck your eyes up long before it kills you.
Get a check-up

Though, hilariously the bill says it's $40 a month, but the gov't subsidizes it so I say let them rich bastards grow fat. Not like I pay taxes now that I'm on disability.

HBP if it's not caused by some other disease like kidney, or liver disease (which are the two most common) it's usually diet and lack of exercise.
It's generally just a sign of age and hits people usually in their mid 30's who haven't learned what the phrase "moderation" means.

If you don't cut back on certain foods and substances like sugar, sodium, alcohol, smoking (including weed) and don't increase things like cardio, fruits and veggies, water, etc. You'll have chronic HBP and be prone to further hardening of arteries.

How do I know? Because I had 165 / 100 at 34.
It was because of alcohol, no exercise, and shit diet, even tho I was skinny, and worked a physical job.

six months of lifestyle change and moderate meds, I am back to normal, off meds and get drunk and eat what ever I want (in moderation)

Salt isnt bad for you, it's literally one of the most essential minerals so your body can function. Recent papers basically find out that if you eat extra salt you just piss it all out since your body naturally figures out how much you need. However if you don't eat enough salt your body will have to shut down essential functions for you to survive and this results in many health problems over time.

In other words, keep adding salt to your meals it makes you healthier.

Three days, light weight and body weight training, two days cardio, two days rest.

Yea, of course we do, but it also thickens the blood. Hbp is caused by literal clogged arteries, which harden them, instead if them being elastic and expand with pressure they become stiff and don't expand, which puts pressure on your heart. If you increase your sodium your blood becomes thicker and your BP rises.
Of you have a failing organ and BP increases to push blood through it.

If you're healthy, eating high sodium diet is rather benign, but generally speaking those who eat high sodium diets aren't the healthiest to begin with.

my dad had high blood pressure since he was 40. he strictly cut sodium from his diet and his blood pressure never went down.

salt is a required mineral your body needs and has NOTHING to do with high blood pressure.

No, you need a small bit of sodium each day, I think its like 2,000mg for the average sized adult. Just watch how much you consume, stay hydrated and exercise and you'll be fine.
