I started eating basically just a giant bowl of boiled broccoli and carrots covered in melted Mozzarella cheese for every meal, can this alone sustain me?

broccoli binds calcium so I wouldn't eat it at every meal personally

As always, variety is key in a good diet.
You can do worse than veggies and cheese but you'll miss other nutrients by restricting yourself.

As long as OP is boiling the shit out of the broccoli this isn't an issue at all

Calcium in broccoli is bound to oxalate molecules that greatly inhibit it's absorption and can cause calcium to build up in kidneys or arterial walls (high calcium consumption is strongly linked to heart disease and kidney stones). There is no reason to ever supplement calcium unless you want to die from heart disease. You're likely getting enough calcium from the mozzarella, actually you should factor out the broccoli altogether and start eating just the carrots and the mozzarella, dark greens taste like shit and are nutritionally worthless

You're getting educated by mommy-bloggers. Even if oxalates were inherently dangerous broccoli contains less of them than carrots, potatoes, nuts/legumes and a ton of other very common fruits and vegetables that humans have been eating for all of our existence. The average person consumes around 200-300mg of oxalates. A cup of broccoli has between 1-2mg. An equal portion of mashed potatoes has about 60mg. A handful of peanuts or almonds is about 30 mg and 122 mg, respectively.

https://www.stjoes.ca/patients-visitors/patient-education/patient-education-k-o/pd-9447-oxalate-in-food.pdf

Unless you've been directed by your physician to limit oxalates in food don't worry about them.

potatoes are too heavy and starchy, and beets are gay. onion and garlic are good but pretty light. surely there exists some perfect veggie based meal I can eat daily that isn't all carbs

>> No.15905500

Broccoli doesn't like to be crunched up and it releases chemical defenses when you chew it. Same with several other plants. Don't overdo some plants, research this. Particularly spinach, can kill you.

Sure, if you eat 7 pounds of it a day.

This. Prehistoric spinach and potatoes actually contained negative oxalic acid but because of the factories owned by Jewish capitalists that are continually genetically engineering our food supply with CHEMICALS from industrial toxic waste now our food supply is POISON.

>> No.15905563

>>15905517
It doesn't work that way unfortunately. You are still getting the effect from cooked broccoli. It is a small stressor on your body that can provide a beneficial effect in moderation (ie not every fucking day/meal) called hormesis. Broccoli likes to kill small animals that eat it, thankfully we aren't small.
