Slimanons, how often do you eat desserts and sweets? I wonder if slim people are generally also people who don't indulge in sugary treats too frequently.

Don't eat any sugar for a week. Try it.
After not eating sugar for a week your palate will readjust and you will realize that all deserts have shitloads of sugar in them. I literally couldn't eat a whole cookie after trying it myself.
Sugar is addictive and merchants use LOADS of it so they can keep you hooked.

my palate is savory, not a big fan of sweets or bread. i do use sugar when balancing dishes but i dont necessarily go for the cake or candy and then my soda intake is very limited. i do love an ice cold coca cola on a hot day but thats basically it. my soda consumption is "damn im craving a coke" once every few days so i walk to the corner store and buy one. i mostly drink water and almond milk.

I've never been above 130lbs (or particularly close to it, for that matter).
~5'7"

My thing is that in addition to a high metabolism, I rarely eat at all. I would spend all my time reading and gaming or watching things or writing on a binge and disdained getting out of the groove and wasting time by even getting myself something to eat, much less actually preparing something myself.

To answer your question, I eat chocolate baked goods whenever I desire. I could eat a slice of cake a day or a whole box of cookies the same and never get fat.

I've been exercising since november and I've lost 11 pounds. No soda, no snacks. Thats really been it for me. Also I guess i've been skipping breakfast

>High metabolism
No, you don't. The difference in basal metabolic rates between people of the same sex and height/weight is miniscule and has virtually no impact on weight changes.
You simply do not eat much. Anyone who claims "high metabolism" over estimates how much they eat, every time.

Infrequently, and only high quality or novel sweets. I'll also have a very small slice of cake or something with a bunch of fresh berries. Fruit is an excellent way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

It's more about quantity. You only need a small slice of cake to savor it. I read Why French Women Don't Get Fat and it said French people enjoy food and American people enjoy eating. Changed my life.

Almost never. Never had much of a sweet tooth which helps. The only time I have dessert is if I made it myself. I make darn good cookies though so when I do it's great

I have a muffin/cookie/donut with my coffee practically every morning. That's about all throughout the day though. I'm a stringbean for reference.

Once or twice a week

>I wonder if slim people are generally also people who don't indulge in sugary treats too frequently.
Kinda. For me, it's just because I exercise a lot. Burning 1,000+ kcal four times a week means I can eat pretty much whatever I want.

I have a dessert after dinner (generally ~20-30g sugar worth) and a piece of fruit a day usually. Also a sweetened yogurt every once in a while. I also snack on chips sometimes, but I pour out roughly a serving worth and only eat that.

Otherwise I don't eat breakfast and usually have a light lunch, no soda or juice at all but I eat as much as I want at dinner. Used to be chubby when I ate out a lot but after covid started and I almost always cook for myself, I turned slim without trying. Restaurant portions are very dangerous.

I'm not exactly slim, but people often ask me where I put all I eat. I rarely eat dessert never eat sweets. I also purposely do not eat a lot of carbs under any form. Otherwise I'd surely be a fatty.

More like normal than slim (BMI 21.8, 6'2, 172 lbs). I eat at least some chocolate every day. Desserts rarely, and when I do it is usually instead of a meal, e.g. crepes with whipped cream and jam for dinner. I used to be be obese (265 lbs), portion control changed that.

And walking. Lots of walking. I do run now but would never recommend it to overweight people, just causes joint and feet problems. First the will to change, then portion control and walking.

>The difference in basal metabolic rates between people of the same sex and height/weight is miniscule and has virtually no impact on weight changes.
There is variation in humans in height, bone mass, etc. but none in metabolism? Even if BMR is different by a little, it leads to large differences over time. People also vary in their abilities to extract energy from food
