Also supermarket poultry tastes like cardboard. We could feed more people on large animals than birds. A conventionally raised cow might take 18 months to be slaughtered but it can also feed a person for up to 4 years easily, versus any bird which might only take 2-3 months to be slaughtered but will only feed a person for a week tops. And with the lowered quality of life and lack of vitamin d and unused muscles, and fed nothing but empty calories, you are selling yourself short. Most CAFO chickens will only feed a person for a day. Sad.

This isn't about sympathy, this is about quality. If you don't care about what you put in your body your life will reflect that.

Where I live we are too efficient about feeding people trash, and we also produce so much food that we literally throw away most of what we produce. It's disgusting and it's time for factory farming to end. We don't need it to feed people.
