In my experience the difference between heavily salted water and non-salted water on pasta sticking together is nil. If you don't want your pasta to stick together while it's boiling just don't be a lazy faggot and stir it once or twice.

Nobody really says it doesn't work, it's just not necessary. Simply stirring the pasta occasionally during the first few minutes of cooking is enough to stop it from sticking.

>>15736817
Might be useful if you only have tiny pots I guess. But otherwise you can turn the heat down a bit so that it's just still bubbling instead of rapidly boiling, it'll still cook normally but won't make it boil over.

I'm really autistic about sticky pasta so I stir it a lot maybe twice every 5 minutes. Actually I started cooking because my mom was really bad about it and would always have sticky pasta because she never stirred it. But yeah bro if you don't stir it will stick
Anyway yeah I don't oil my water just salt it. You could make the argument that oiling the water helps the oil penetrate the pasta better but it doesn't really make a difference, I always oil after it's done boiling anyway.

I very rarely stir pasta and never have problem with it sticking together. However, I do keep the water boiling strong enough to keep the pasta in motion.

If you're having problems with the pasta sticking while cooking, you are likely using far too little water (get a bigger pot to cook it in) or the heat is not turned up enough to maintain a vigorous boil.

Bread is strictly superior to pasta.
Pasta and sauce is not a meal, it is a carb side. A few meatballs on top doesn't change that.
Bread is superior because you can't lie about what you're doing. Put just sauce in between bread? It's obviously retarded.
Put enough meat between bread with the sauce to not be retarded? Congrats you have sane flavor and macros.
Women have malnutrition brain damage from the pasta meme when will the lie end.

>> No.15746347

I don't know if this is true, but I heard a story a few years ago about an Italian family in New York City.

One of their elderly relatives from Italy was visiting and they gathered everyone together for a traditional Italian family meal.

Of course, it was spaghetti. They brought her plate out first with a good helping of spaghetti. She looked at it and asked if they wanted her to serve everyone else from the plate.

She considered spaghetti to be a side dish and not the main course and thought that what was on her plate was enough for everyone there.

Point was, calling someone retarded because they did not have the access to the same knowledge you have now is by itself a shitty take. You are not smarter than Newton because you know drinking mercury is poisonous when he did not know, this is because the knowledge you have is due to hindsight from hundreds of years of advancement in medicine and the ease of access to THAT knowledge. You sure as hell did not deduce oil didnt affect the stickinnes of the pasta, you HAD to be told because you dont have the mental capabilities to analyze these things, so acting like you are smarter when you are nothing but a word repeater is actually *retarded, so humble the fuck down chud and go cook your microwave tendie dinner.

So... nobody's in your house telling you not to do this, right? The main problem with the oil is that it can increase the chance of boiling over - if you've got an eye on that, and you know that it's otherwise mostly a placebo, there's no real problem.
